FUCK the rules. Let's have the first primary for 2012 next year, right after the inauguration
I'm going to petition the Florida Legislature to pass a resolution moving our primary to the first weekend following the 2009 presidential inauguration. Let's get all these candidates together while they're still fresh from the campaign trail!

After all, according to the logic being demonstrated by the Hillary campaign, we shouldn't even have any rules at all. Who cares if states continue leap-frogging each other in a never-ending battle to be the first one? By having Florida's primary immediately following the inauguration, we'll get a jump on all you other states! Huzzah, take that!

1. I had suggested that Florida have their 2012 primary the day after the election this year,
but then New Hampshire and Iowa would move their to the day before the election. Rules?! We don't need no stinking rules! (although I rather appreciate them while driving).

2. My sentiments exactly!
The Hillary logic falls apart when the reason for the penalties are explained. People who want FL and MI to count should start petitioning their state governments now if they want the primary rules changed for 2012.

3. Oh yeah, well MY state can top that
How about we schedule the 2012 primary for November 5, 2008?

Yeah, it's a Wednesday, BUT WE'LL BE FIRST DADGUMMIT!

4. Yeah, but is your state going to hold multiple primaries at once?
I'm going to petition my state to hold the primary for 2012, 2016, and 2020 on the same day.

It will be just like playing the lottery, picking our candidates way in advance!
