Has it occurred to anyone that Clinton's just playing this one out?
With all the gusto of a candidate who's going to take it to the mat?

I think she knew she lost after Indiana, and now she's just playing it out.

This is one of the closest primaries in a generation. She has the right, and she owes it to her supporters and fundraisers.

2. I don't think she should drop out.
That said, if she KNOWS she's lost, why is she telling MI and FL that Obama doesn't want their vote etc. etc. etc.?

3. She's trying to poison the well. She wants to make her supporters so angry that they
won't vote for Obama. Then she'll play the martyr whose working her heart out for the ungrateful, retched Obama.

I've already heard her one hack from PA say that the Democrats don't deserve to win if they can't unite. Of course, she's spent weeks trying to make sure that never happens.

4. Yes she is ... to what end?
It's one of the closest recently because a "presumptive candidate" at the beginning of the process was surprised by an oncomer who showed her up.

5. Closest in a generation? I wonder.
Just from a cost perspective, would anyone keep going at this point?

I'm not sure how much it's costing Hill per day, but it's got to be very expensive.
You just have to ask yourself, "what is her point?"
It's always about money.

But this one's a mystery to me.

I think so.
SHe wants her and her supporters to go through each contest, to really be a part of this historical race.

13. Yep. That's what I'm hoping for.
And, if it's true, I can respect that, as long as she keeps the rhetoric conciliatory.

There's a difference between "playing it out" and "fighting it out", after all.

14. she owes it to her supporters and fundraisers
to make sure the Democrats lose the presidential election.

I guess this is true if you are counting the Rush Limbaugh listeners who were moved to donate to and vote for her.

15. She has said this sooooo many times.
Her supporters and her fundraisers want her to finish it out.

It's part of the healing process, the unity of the dem party. The worst thing that could happen is if Hillary supporters felt like she was being forced out of the race.

The one who reaches 2025 will be our nominee.

16. That is the most sensible explanation I have heard on DU.
Even Obama knows that we all have to let this play out for the good of the party. Obama also knows that he will have to unify her supporters and bring them over to his side. I wish his supporters would get the message and see the bigger picture. Senator Clinton is a good Democrat. She is our Democrat. She is our United States Senator. I will never turn on her or Bill Clinton for that matter. I have remained neutral on both candidates and I will continue to do so. I will not turn on my fellow Democrats. I will support the nominee regardless of who it is with all my strength to beat McCain.
