why does Hillary do better in some polls vs McCain ???
When the pollster calls this person:

and asks if she will vote for Obama or McCain, what do you think she will say?

She is not alone. There were many on display for the world to see on Saturday.

1. It's the Bill Bradley effect
That is, the candidate who is not being subjected to the media's scrutiny and the other party's daily attacks. Naturally, the candidate who is not being bashed every day and scrutinized by the media will poll better as a hypothetical nominee.

After Al Gore wrapped up the nomination in 2000, Bill Bradley was polling better in matchups with Bush. Why? Because he wasn't being beat up on every day by Bush, the media or the Gore campaign.

3. Because nobody is running a campaign against Clinton
Clinton is running a campaign against Obama.

McCain is running a campaign against Obama.

Obama is running a campaign against McCain.

Nobody is running a campaign against Clinton.

5. it's kinda been two against one since March
The North Carolina GOP conveniently runs ads against Obama before the Democratic Primary in North Carolina.

Media wrote her off after Iowa.

10. The media sang her praises from February of 2007
through to the Iowa Caucus.

MSNBC had the highest rating of positive remarks about Senator Clinton of any network and gave her more positive comments than any other candidate, Republican or Democrat.

4. Obama's campaign has been easy on her and in fact has praised her. She's
had a free ride from them for the most part while her campaign and supporters have repeatedly signaled that McCain is a better choice than Obama.

Also...Obama hasn't campaigned nationally yet against McCain, whereas Hillary has been in the news for 16 years. It might take some exposure to turn the tide. But in the end, Obama will roll over McCain.
