I really hate posting this. I really do.
Especially in light of it possibly killing the coming together that's starting to happen here. but here goes...

A Clinton donor tells me that on a conference call today with major fundraisers this afternoon, Harold Ickes told them Clinton isn't planning to drop out. He pressed donors to stay unified, and reviewed tactical options, including challenging the Michigan delegation.

State finance committees are also circulating letters to deliver to Clinton tomorrow in New York, and I've obtained a draft of the Illinois finance committee's letter, being circulated by a Clinton fundraising aide, Rafi Jafri, which stresses a fight until the convention, and a resolution in "August, and no earlier."

We, the Illinois Finance Committee, want to show our full commitment to and support for Senator Hillary Clinton, in the fight for her rightful appointment as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee at the convention this August.

And even if you just got into politics because of 9-11 or Iraq war, you would think more of you would BOTHER to study your nation's recent history to see HOW we ended up with a Bush2...how we ended up being attacked by a global terror network on 9-11...how Bush had a few wellknown Dems help him sell the war to other lawmakers and to the American people.

But DU has proven to me that people form opinions everyday without ever seeking the facts that others risked their lives and careers to uncover, to document, and to preserve.

22. It seems to me that Hillary is the one who is "harboring
such hatred." Hatred for the democratic process, for respecting the voice of the voters, even if they don't choose her, and respect for the party itself. She is not automatically the "rightful" nominee, not if she hasn't received enough of the required delegates from the voters.

If she doesn't win either state tomorrow, that will put Obama over the top and she needs to display the graciousness she's been so sorely lacking in throughout this entire primary season, quit being a sore loser and spoiled child, and accept it. But it appears that that's too much to ask from her, I guess.

31. Take Obama out of the picture for a minute
It is a historical fact that either (Dem or Repug) party that has gone to their convention dividde has lost the election. That is a fact....

If this drags to the Convention this will give McCain more free press....and divide the Democratic party even more.

10. I just posted that in the "when will she drop out?" thread

I don't know what to make of it, it did come from a donor and from a circulated memo
from the Illinois finance section of the Hillary campaign. I expect it is not from
her main headquarters.

I feel and have said she will make it official on the 15th, however there is more
rumors going on now that it will be sooner.

Maybe these are just RABID supporters who feel that way -- not
language that top advisers are using. I certainly hope so,

things I've been posting about her (now that this appears to be ending).

23. If this is true...then it's time for the super delegates to step up to the plate and
END THINGS ONCE AND FOR ALL!

If she continues to fight after it's obvious that she doesn't have the votes to win, a party bigwig has to compare her to Don Quixote and completely ridicule her for her lack of reality-based thinking.

Finally, she just has to become the punch line of every joke...because that's what she has reduced herself to, unfortunately!

What a sad ending! My guess: Hillary only knows how to fight. She doesn't know how to negotiate, compromise, or simply STOP FIGHTING. Wow! I'm just shaking my head in amazement and disgust. She's the definition of "debacle".

39. If true, the supers will settle this
There is no sitting democratic member of the US House of Representatives whose interests are well served by a floor fight, not a single one. They are all on the ballot in November. No other incumbent Democratic candidate running for re-election anywhere is well served by a floor fight at the convention, not a single one of them would be helped by this sort of public spectacle.

Virtually no elected official super delegate, currently running for re-election will be interested in seeing Barack rejected by a backroom deal. There is nothing in this for them but a loss of critical support among the base.

The supers have it within their power to put this race completely out of reach, and if Hillary threatens to continue a campaign of attrition throughout the summer, they will do it promptly. Many of the supers would prefer that she come to this conclusion voluntarily, terminate her campaign and endorse the nominee and will likely provide a short interval for her to do so. If she does not take the offer now, they will act to end this promptly.

This has nothing to do with the candidate they prefer or feel would be the best nominee. If Hillary does not take the offer of a graceful exit, they will act to provide no other alternative, it will become simply a matter of political survival instinct. The ones sitting on the fence at this point are either compelled to remain neutral due to position (Pelosi and Reid) or those simply attempting to find the path that best serves the interest they have in retaining their seats.

This is just another complete misread of the tea leaves by Hillary. These folks are not weighing who would be the best candidate to defeat McCain, they aren't evaluating resumes, and they aren't looking at GE polling, they simply don't want to irritate nearly half of the party by picking a candidate. They would prefer the candidate make the choice to step aside first, but failing this, they will choose self interest in another way. None of them will see a floor fight for the nomination as in their best interest.

One way or another, this stops soon.
