As the long primary draws to a close, I just want to say a few things...

This is a historic night for the Democratic Party and for the country! From here on out, we can concentrate on the battle against John McCain!
Congratulations Senator Barack Obama on becoming the first black presidential nominee in American history! You've fought long and hard to earn this victory...savor it, for the road ahead will be hard. But together, as a party, we will meet the challenge of McCain and we will be triumphant. However, it will be up to Obama to work with Clinton in repairing the divides within the party first. Some voters he will never be able to win...forget them. Concentrate on the ones we CAN take.

Senator Hillary Clinton, you fought hard and well. No other candidate would've been able to hang on as you did, a tribute to your strength and tenacity. You've had a historic run that will pave the way for a future opportunity for a woman to run for president. Hopefully, you will do right by our party and support Obama to your fullest.

To the supporters of Obama: in our moment of triumph, let us not be bitter or petty. We finally have what we wanted...it is better if we are gracious and welcome our fellow Dems and Duer's with welcome arms rather than spit on them. There's been a lot of bad blood and personal battles, but the time now is for healing and unifying, not for gloating and acting immature. Let's save our gloating for November and the Republicans, who have earned it.

To the supporters of Clinton: I hope we can join together now as one against McCain. I know a lot of you have been hurt by the infighting that has taken place here, but I hope that we will all be able to move on and look towards the future. I apologize for any time that i was baseless or cruel, as none of us are innocent. Forgive me, if you are able, as I will forgive you. We need as many of you as possible.

Together, we WILL win. Together, the Bush era will become an embarassing footnote in history...and a new era of Democratic control of all three branches of government begins!
