McCain's Speech - "disagreed strongly with the Bush" - Lets Review |
|
Okay, let's review. Tonight John McCain said: "I disagreed strongly with the Bush administration's mismanagement of the war in Iraq. I called for the change in strategy that is now, at last, succeeding where the previous strategy had failed miserably. I was criticized for doing so by Republicans. I was criticized by Democrats. I was criticized by the press. But I don't answer to them. I answer to you. And I would be ashamed to admit I knew what had to be done in Iraq to spare us from a defeat that would endanger us for years, but I kept quiet because it was too politically hard for me to do. No ambition is more important to me than the security of the country I have defended all my adult life."
However, let's look at John McCain's history of strong disagreement on Iraq in John McCain's own words:
1. How would American troops be greeted?: "I believe... that the Iraqi people will greet us as liberators." (March 20, 2003) :wtf:
2. Did Saddam Hussein have a nuclear program that posed an imminent threat to the United States?: "Saddam Hussein is on a crash course to construct a nuclear weapon." (October 10, 2002)
3. Will a war with Iraq be long or short?: "This conflict is... going to be relatively short." (March 23, 2003) :wow:
4. How is the war going?: "I would argue that the next three to six months will be critical." (September 10, 2003)
5. How is it going (almost two months later, from the war's "greatest critic")? "I think the initial phases of were so spectacularly successful that it took us all by surprise." (October 31, 2003)
6. Is this war really necessary?: "Only the most deluded of us could doubt the necessity of this war." (August 30, 2004) :hurts:
7. How is it going? (Recurring question for the war's "greatest critic"): "We will probably see significant progress in the next six months to a year." (December 4, 2005) :boring:
8. Will the President's "surge" of troops into Baghdad and surrounding areas that the senator had been calling for finally make the difference?: "We can know fairly well in a few months." (February 4, 2007) :grr:
Yup, McCain is right up there Dennis Kucinich in his disagreement with Bush's policies. :sarcasm:

1. Obama needs to keep hammering how McBushCain will extend GW Bush's presidency |
|
BushMcCain 2008
Obama needs to hammer te economy, housing, gas prices this month. Iraq is kind of fading but Obama needs to challenge McCain on finding the terrorists especially Bin Ladin. Obama needs to be perfectly clear that the Republicans have failed on funding for Home Security, failed on 9/11 and continue to fail...
