Anybody else have this impression: When Clinton left the White House,
one of the now-debunked "trashing" was that computer keyboards were missing the letter "W" keys.

My belief is this:

Kerry gets into the White House and finds that the "missing W keys" are safe and sound.

It's just that all the computers are gone.

(shades of 41 - where they took out the hard drives, rendering the PCs pretty much useless).

5. Poppy in the Middle Again!

Have you noticed that the same tactic that were used by the father are now used by the son?

It fascinates me that people always think that GW is the Mean one and they give Poppy a pass. I guess they think that because Poppy is old that he is just at home resting.

LOL - Poppy is at these War Games 24/7 IMO.

He is probably more mentally power hungry than Chimp.
Poppy just sits back and quietly pulls all the strings.
He has been doing this for years.

12. That's because Poppy is Augustus, Bunnypants* is Tiberius
which leads us to Caligula and Nero upcoming, each more ruthless and incompetent than the last.

15. Well, then,
If Jenna and Laura are Caligula and Nero, things could get interesting.

17. I don't think so, Caligula and Nero are yet to be named
Although I think Caligula will wind up being the disturbed George P. Bush, currently sharpening his fangs at a corrupt law firm in the Imperial Province of Texas.

18. George P. Bush?
Is that Jeb's kid, the latin fellow they trot out at conventions to "prove" that the GOP is all warm fuzzy multi-cultural? (IIRC, didn't GHWB refer to him as "the brown one?")

If so, I weep. (Going out on a limb here -- does the "P" stand for "Prescott?" Do these people have any other names?)

Also, inform me, if you would, please, tom_paine -- how exactly is he "disturbed?"

Plus it is a given that the Sons of Tyrants are always more crazed and horrific than their Dad's who did the destroying.

You might say this is harmless teenaged shenanigans. Maybe so, but so was Shrubya's fascinationg with exploding frogs and we can see what a monstrous chracter that concealed.

Unfortunately, you'll find out what I mean when he ascends the Imperial Throne a decade or two from now...

2. When did this alleged trashing get debunked?
I remember hearing that the W's were taken off the computers. I couldn't help but laugh. What happened?

6. Not sure who investigated
But, either the General Accounting Office or the Congressional Budget Office investigated all the 'alleged' damages and found only normal wear & tear that would be associated with long-time residents moving. Nothing unusual or extraordinary at all.

But, you know those accountants are a bunch of radical, hippy, tree-hugging liberals who hate America. I mean, <gasp>, many accountants have actually been to <gasp again> college.

13. I looked it up.....Bob Barr demanded an investigation by the GAO
Fourteen months later they reported that they "found no evidence" of vandalism, in spite of white house claims that they were "cataloging that which took place".

10. Al Franken had a chapter on it in "Lies and the Lying Liars"
It turns out that after complaining loudly about the "missing" keys, destruction of Gov. property, and "porn bombs" in the computers, an uninformed Republican Congressman put together an investigative commission in hopes of sending those Clintons away forever.

The commission was quietly disbanded after getting clued in by the Bushies.

3. I am serious
Kerry should not go into his White House without a team of news camermen to walk thru the place. I am sure it will be trashed.

7. oops ... looks like the first time I have ever had to agree with a bush .
I too would remove and take the hard drive. (Although I would pay for it or replace it with a new hard drive.) You almost cannot entirely erase what you have put on the hard drive.

11. I recall the Republicans spent $120,000 investigating the complaint.
And concluded that some curtins needed replacing...about $8,000 worth of repairs based on normal wear and tear. Remember those days? When we were told that the adults were in charge?

We've had a $800BB transfer of wealth, 3,000 Americans dying from an attack, and a war in Iraq based on lies. But no real investigations by the Republican cowards in Congress. I sure wish the kids were still running the show.

14. But on the good side...
When Kerry gets into the Oval Office, the books on the shelves will still be where Clinton left them, probably a little dusty, but still there!

16. Removing the HDs is pretty standard procedure for any
outgoing administration, especially when the opposing party is coming in. A considerate administration will leave them with new HDs and OS's installed. My guess is that the Bush junta won't.

Leaving those HDs behind would be exactly like leaving all their personal files behind, not smart at all.
