I am sick of hearing how Hillary just needs a little time to sort this out... |
|
<begin rant>
Listen either she is the biggest idiot in politics since GWB, or she is manipulating her base (I mean you) for some reason.
Hillary had one chance to come out of this looking like a true Leader. Instead she comes out looking like a fool.
Tonight She had a golden opportunity to share in the spotlight, to acknowledge that tonight Barack Obama became the first African-American to head the ticket of a major political party. It is a huge accomplishment. It was her time to acknowledge that, and to exercise her role as a leader and help to unite her party. Instead she became small, to not even mention that history has been made, to thank the other 18 million American people, who helped to make this historic moment happen. Instead she focused only on herself. I, I, I, ME, ME, MY.
For a sophisticated career politician like Clinton to commit this type of political suicide, makes no sense at all. Barack Obama will not be forced into selecting her as VP, or anything else for that matter. So who is she speaking to, who is she trying to convince? What does she want?
Give her time? She has known that she would not be the nominee for some time now. What does she need time to do? Clinton has had more than enough time to prepare for her loss tonight. But why would a woman who is so tough (filled with testicular fortitude apparently) Need all of this time to adjust? She is a tough cookie right? Can take on anyone? Can face any challenge? Is that true? If so, why did she fail so miserably in the challenge of losing gracefully and with dignity?
Clinton has been greatly diminished in this. I for one have lost a lot of respect for her. But hey, she is winning right? Why don't you visit her at hillaryclinton.com and give her more of your hard earned money. For what? The race is over. But you obviously don't know that, give her more. And don't worry about the fact there is a real opponent to beat. Focus on her, that is what she wants from you after all.
</end rant>

1. What would she do if she were faced with a tough decision as |
|
president? Take a week to sort it out and confer with her donors? She is seriously losing all of her strong woman credibility on this one...

she should be ready to let it go then. What would happen if she got the nom and lost to McCain would she need time to sort that out for days before conceding. I've never seen a candidate act like she's acting.

14. Interestingly, your thoughts are echoed by some of her supporters |
|
in the conservative realm. While they voted for her in some of the primaries, it has been noted that this was a fairly unclassy move. This actually works in Obama's favor should he go another way for a VP pick.

Edwards didn't need to be treated with kid gloves.
Richardson didn't need to be treated with kid gloves.
Kucinich didn't need to be treated with kid gloves.
Biden didn't need to be treated with kid gloves.
Dodd didn't need to be treated with kid gloves.
Gravel didn't....well, Gravel needed to just be ignored.
So why the fuck should Hillary Clinton require any different treatement than any other politician in history?

Apparently it is sexist to treat her any differently than her male opponents, yet she is demanding special treatment because she is a woman, and is so passionate about her campaign. As I woman I find it all a little ridiculous. Imagine if one of her male counterparts acted as she does. He would be torn to shreds.

16. Clinton isn't releasing the 18 million or sending them Obama's way. |
|
That's why the "What I want" in her speech. She will, or will not release this army depending on Obama. She may be having this meeting with Obama to discuss this. I wouldn't doubt it's about a VP spot, and I hope Obama turns her down and calls her bluff. There's no way come November all 18 million (she lost quite a bit as time went on) will be voting for McSame. So maybe we should just let them split from the Democratic party?
What we do need to do is look at the polls now since Clinton is out of the picture with McSame.

20. She doesn't have 18 million Supporters....she had 18 million voters.... |
|
not the same thing.
That's why she's broke.
Her support is only deep for a nominal part of the 18 million....some of which voted for her prior to realizing how she operates, others who simply knew "Hillary" more than Barack, but wouldn't have problems voting for Barack. Others still were part of Operation Chaos.

is really what galled me the most in listening to Hillary's speech tonight. Many in the audience chimed in when she said, "Go to my website, Hillaryclinton.com." She wants people to donate money to a campaign that doesn't exist any more??? Oh, that's right - she needs to repay herself. A real forehead-slapping moment.:banghead:

18. At this point I'll give her a day or two... |
|
If she's still dilly dallying around come the weekend than she needs a push, and I'd bet that there are some party leaders who will do the pushing. At this point, 72 hours isn't going to kill us.

sentiment and I'm pretty sickened by the fact her and her supporters are pushing the idea of her being on the ticket. Let's be honest, this is NOT coming from Obama supporters, it's coming from her supporters under the guise of being Obama supporters. There are plenty of ways to forge party unity including putting one of her strong supporters on the ticket. Having her on the ticket is NOT the only way to win. Don't let people fool you into believing that. What she is doing is unprecedented in the history of modern politics. That along with the stunt of offering to make Obama her Vice-President when she was clearly losing the election.
Any suggestion that she should be treated differently because she is a woman or because her supporters will vote for McCain is ridiculous. Those that do either threaten to or vote for McCain are so selfish that they truly don't care about the future of the country.
It is the prerogative of the Democratic Presumptive Nominee to choose his Vice-President.
