Isn't the real reason Bush is bringing 70,000 troops home... |
|
so he can redeploy them after the election to Iraq? It is so apparent to me that I'm surprised that the media isn't latching on to this. On the other hand I shouldn't be surprised.

1. it is 70,000 over 10 years - do you think it is election related? |

Indeed Clinton began the planning on it.

I vote Iran. No point in pulling out of Asia to send them back. |

4. American Troops from Germany are already in Iraq |
|
There is some sense to the concept of bringing them home after the end of the cold war.
The real kicker is the timing of this announcement. Bush*s base is wavering so much that he needs to shore up things even in the military.

9. Funny you should say that! |

That was my original wording, but then I realized the ominous double entendre and changed the wording!

5. An ugly thought - bringing them home to take over the country |
|
after he looses the election! Or when the fake terrorists attack and he cancels the election!

8. Some other thoughts....Latin America, kicked out, unsafe, unwelcome, draft |
|
Those coming home could be deployed to Cuba, Venezuela, and Brazil faster.
We were kicked out of Saudi Arabia.
The PNAC dream of basing them in the U.S. State of Iraq doesn't look good.
We've been hearing about the atmosphere of welcome deteriorating in Germany though the press relates it to the end of the cold war (actual end about 12 years ago).
Two surprises...
that they would do anything to draw attention to the troops before the election.
that we would even consider pulling out of South Korea. Does this mean that North Korea is no longer an axis of evil country?
