So now that Obama has the required delegates locked up.... NOW she starts being gracious. |
|
Sorry... no VP slot for you, Hill. You should have considered the wisdom of being gracious before you decided to hand the GOP your anti-Obama quotes.
Bow out. Acknowledge reality. Help your supporters to heal.

11. Hardly. It was wishy-washy. |
|
On one hand she did proclaim that the USA needed the next President to be a Democrat and that McCain would perpetuate Bush's failed foreign policy. I guess you could call that praise for Obama. It was just a token line in her speech though. She spent way too much time talking about herself and praising herself. I hope her hand doesn't get tired from patting herself on the back too much.

2. Her true arrogance is evident by... |
|
TRASHING Obama for months then DEMANDING she be on the ticket.
The real world doesn't work like that. You can't treat people horribly and expect for them to still kiss your ass or voluntarily give you ANYTHING.
She has one hope: End the hostage crisis. Tell your supporters to support Obama unconditionally. Promise to deliver him Arkansas and help with Florida - even if you aren't on the ticket. Using logic and diplomacy make your case as to why you'd be a good VP choice. Behave honorably and graciously from this point forward. Ask him NICELY and then MAYBE...MAYBE he would consider you for VP.

4. It's an interesting contrast between Obama and Hillary... |
|
...people sometimes accuse Obama of being an "empty suit" because people have a tendency to project their hopes and aspirations onto him --but that's not a bad thing. Kennedy had the ability to be many things to many people. Reagan, unfortunately, did as well. When you're president, it's your responsibility to be not only a representative of the United States, but also of the American people, and it's hard to do that when we're such a diverse country. But I think Obama could pull it off.
Hillary Clinton on the other hand, can never be anyone other than Hillary Clinton. "It's all about her," but not always in a bad way--it's just that when Clinton speaks, the personal trumps the universal. She uses "me" and "I" much more than he does, yesterday night AND this afternoon. People identify WITH her--especially women--but she could never represent this country on a diplomatic front as well as Obama can, because first and foremost she will always represent Hillary, then America. That's pretty damn obvious to me.

9. True about the "me-itis", but I'm not sure that women overwhelmingly |

identify with her. Most young women I know (I'm right in the middle at age 41) are supporting Barack. I tend to think she is seeing the most response from the blue-collar workers who would like her husband back in the White House. They know they were doing better during the Clinton years economically. When they say they want Hillary for her "experience" I know that is code for either "I want Bill back in the White House" or "I'm not voting for the African American". Especially after hearing the results of the exit polls in some of the older Industrial states, I think that is the phenomena we are seeing.
Our party will probably lose some of those types, only to gain moderates and unhappy conservatives. I do think the Republican party is having some pretty serious in-fighting as well. It has sort of been hijacked by the evangelicals, along with Bush and his foolhardy war-mongering.

10. In order to be gracious, one must have grace. Sadly, Hillary doesn't know what that is. |
