So I'm listening to Ed Schultz today
And it seems that the Hillary supporters that are calling in are not going to vote for Obama because they feel disrespected by Obama supporters.

Not because they do not like Obama or his policies but because they want Obama's supporters to "show them the proper respect" and not celebrate the fact that Obama won the nomination.

This is insane.

24. Me neither, and I'm (sort of one) of them.
I'm a woman on the other side of 40 now. These people need to grow up. Equal rights means all candidates are judged on their pros and cons; it doesn't mean that the first woman who has a genuine shot at the presidency gets handed the nomination, even if she is an inferior candidate.

27. Old women can be asshats, too....
But I think that the majority of Hillary supporters will end up voting for Obama. It's just how things work out.

We all need to look in that corner of the Party and find out how to keep our members in the group.

5. As an Obama supporter, I guess this adds to the problem:
They are fucking morons. He won fair and square. If they want to write in her name and help McCain win, then have at it.

6. That is the stupidest reason for not voting for someone
I've ever heard of. First of all, a candidate does not have control over the actions of his/her supporters. The so-called "supporters" could even be GOP plants, for heaven's sake! You vote based upon a candidate's positions on the issues, not upon what some "supporter" said or did.

7. I was hearing a lot of the same comments on Thom Hartmann's
national show. I want to know why Obama and his supporters are supposed to show respect, but it's okay for the Clinton camp and supporters to show disrespect to Obama. And that is what I consider her speech last night...disrespect towards Obama, his supporters, the state of Montana and the Democratic Party.

8. They are very few but they are loud ....
.... the problem is that Hillary is still pushing the lie,
"I won the popular vote" meme. And some feel very hurt
and that it was "stolen" from her.

Obama has shown Hillary nothing but respect and for anybody
to say that they will vote for John McCain because Barack's
supporters weren't nice enough to them and to really do it ....
they are beyond help anyway.

When she was ranting about the reason why she feels Mrs Clinton should stay in the race was because of the upcoming verdict in the Rezco trial and the fact that she kept referring to Democratic party, as the Democrat party

13. Have you ever placated to a someone who is just trying to con you?
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 01:34 PM by zulchzulu
I've had to deal with people that try to con me with a "just give me this and I'll stop..." and you realize you keep appeasing the person until you finally have to tell them to get the fuck away.

With these particular Hillary Clinton supporters, it's like you owe them something. For some people, nothing is good enough and no matter how much you appease them, they will ask for more... like a calculating conman.

What should we do?

Admit that Hillary is the better candidate and that it them n*%gers that caused all the ruckus (which I think many of them think)? Admit we're in some kind of cult and we had no control in our choice, therefore maybe we should give it up?

We Obama supporters only owe one thing to one event... the election of Barack Obama as President on Election Day. If people want to vote for McCain, they are Repigs...it's that simple.

When they get into the voting booth and see the name McCain, they will vote Obama. They won't stay home, won't vote repub, etc. Just let everyone blow off some steam.

If the O supporters had reached out instead of demonizing Clinton supporters it would be a small step towards getting them on the bandwagon.

26. I'm a 61 year old woman and I'm sick to death of my peers acting so childish
I guess it's true - most of us never get passed a certain formative year of our lives. The one I hear most about is age 2. The one where we learn to say "No!". It's not exactly the year where we learn compromise.

Anyhow, they can just bite me. For her supporters to turn their backs on the younger generations of women and their right to choose and other liberal achievements is to be without conscience.

And before they bite me they can kiss my fat ass.
