3. On a serious matter, isn't DC OUTSIDE tornado Alley?

4. I have noticed, because I grew up in Tornado Alley.
The weather has been nutso and is getting more and more erratic all over the world.

14. I know... my mom lives in Mexico City
people are wearing shorts in Mexico City in April since it is that freaking hot!

It was never like that

Looking outside my window, it is June, and it looks like winter weather in San Diego

5. It is very unusual for the D.C. area....
however over the last 100 years, almost all of the 50 states
have had reports of tornadoes at one time or another.

I do wonder however, if the talking heads on MSNBC have ever
been in a storm. Am waiting at any moment for them all to dive
under their desks.

17. Thanks for the welcome
Have been watching DU for several weeks now and finally
desided to take the plunge. Being a recovering Republican,
it's been of great interest watching the back and forth of
people who are truly passionate about their beliefs instead of
just spouting party gibberish.

12. Thanks for trying but this is part of what was predicted
by global warming

I could give you other examples of weird weather, again predicted by the science

In and OUT the US.

But thanks

6. Actually, I'm just a few miles outsude the center of DC right now, and
I can honestly say I haven't heard such loud thunder in the decade or so I've been here as I'm hearing now. Even Noah didn't see this sort of rain.
