GOP -Sen. Chambliss- admits staff attend intel - bring one "up to speed" |
|
From the ABCNote:
Sen. Saxy Chambliss was asked on "Fox and Friends" what he thought about the Bush-Cheney claim that Kerry missed 76% of the public meetings while he was on the Senate Intelligence Committee and whether that percentage was abnormally high. Chambliss dodged the question, instead saying that the committee would be happy to release Kerry's attendance records at private meetings. (He claimed to have "no idea what they show.") Asked whether Kerry could have missed that many meetings and still "stayed up to speed," Chambliss said he could have been briefed by staff, which is where Senators often "get the brunt of the information."

1. Tad Devine explained it yesterday... |

That ad doesn't define either a specific time period or a specific number of meetings; therefore, if they chose 10 particular meetings (say, only January meetings) over a 10 year period of monthly meetings, chances are that JK might have missed 76% of the January meetings. He was, of course, present at most of the other 11 months of meetings over a 10 year period.
Repukes always cheat and lie! We have to start demanding dates, times, and legal documentation when they use weird-assed stats.
BTW, those "staff" Chambliss is talking about are legislative aides, who have law degrees.

3. Kerry missed 76% of the committee meetings? |
|
The short, short answer that turneth away a whole flock of nonsense: Prove it. Where are the committee attendance records? Prove it. What time period are we talking about? Prove it. How does Kerry's record of personal attendance stack up against every other committee member? Prove it.
Easy, easy.
