if we can get 13000+ people to stand around to listen to Kerry/Edwards speak in NW OH, something is going down!

6. Kerry needs to capture the major cities in Ohio to win the state. |
|
But, Kerry hasn't been afraid of campaigning in the heart of Ohio's conservative base in rural NW Ohio. He drew a crowd of over 15,000 in Bowling Green, which is a very conservative area. This could pick up votes beyond Kerry's base in Cleveland-Akron-Canton-Youngstown and Dayton. Columbus, normally a Republican stronghold, currently has a Democrat mayor with state office potential. This could also be a boost for Kerry. Gore's mistake was he underestimated how close he was to taking Ohio and withdrew his campaigning from Ohio during the home stretch of the 2000 campaign and it cost him.
I think Kerry is learning from Gore's mistake.

it was damn hot that day and crowded as hell. If you wanna see some pics I got from up there and a couple of AVI movies I got with my camera pm me and I will get a few to you. Plus you should check out my 'moran' look alike photo. The guy holding the sign got shouted out for not being able to spell but 3 out of like 9 words correctly critizing Kerry and praising bush. very funny! I didn't know what a 'democat' was till I thought about it, lol.

Still not seeing bush stickers. I did however see two last week, one at work and about 5 days later one comming home from school up 75. I have seen quite a few kerry/edwards new stickers spread about. Seeing more and more every day.

after the RNC. Bush is going to get a bump. The numbers are going to shift his way a bit. Late September, early October. That is when I will get excited.

If Kerry takes it he likely also takes FL, has a shot at WI, and certainly takes PA. If he doesn't take it, then it comes down to FL and I dunno about you, but I am not trusting the election to FL.
OH has a huge union presence which helps us, and Bush's steel tarriffs didn't really win anybody over. The GOP strength is the guns, god, and gays rural and small city electorate -- also huge in OH.
Right now, all the indicators have Kerry gaining *very* slowly. If you were going to throw any financial weight behind Kerry, that's the place to do it.
