Clinton Superdelegate: "Clinton Wanted to Exploit Jewish-Black Tension"
Rep. Rob Andrews, who supported Hillary Clinton throughout the primary season, disclosed he received a phone call shortly before the April 22 Pennsylvania primary from a top member of Clinton's organization and that the caller "explicitly" discussed a strategy of winning Jewish voters by exploiting tensions between Jews and African-Americans.

"There have been signals coming out of the Clinton campaign that have racial overtones that indeed disturb me,"

"Frankly, I had a private conversation with a high-ranking person in the campaign ... that used a racial line of argument that I found very disconcerting. It was extremely disconcerting given the rank of this person. It was very disturbing."

5. The Clinton Supporters don't believe it because the source wasn't named...
...they may have a point - but I still don't understand why a superdelegate would say this.

like republicans disparage that person on a personal basis if he/she was named ...

38. unless it was true. they said it because it was true. how hard is it
to believe that people are telling the truth? It reminds me of all the shit flying about how the war was a lie but somehow, Colin Powell didn't know he was lying at the UN. He knew it and he did it. People tell the truth. what benefit would this person get from lying? Good grief. Can it be so hard to believe that people tell the truth?

19. I agree
if it's true I whole heartedly want the person to be identified and for them, and anybody who approved of this tactic, to FRY.... but until the person is named and details given about what was actually said it's got no legs.

So stop pretending otherwise.

42. Wrong. That's not how journalism works. He was a first hand witness to the conversation at issue
Identities of the source have been kept private. Just like they were in the story on which senior Clinton aides asked 8 Senators to call the Clintons and demand them to concede. It was reported that you would know these people if you heard the name, sources are not always revealed in journalism. What is important is that the REPORTER can confirm who it was OFF THE RECORD.

Jesus Christ you'd think folks on a political site would know how news is sourced. :eyes:

44. It wasn't the reporter's source. It was a second hand source.
Did the source name his source? The article doesn't say that.

Nothing in the article says that the reporter can confirm anything.

8. IDENTIFY THE PERSON!!!
Don't go after Clinton when doing it, but THROW THAT PERSON UNDER THE BUS.

If a high ranking Democratic campaign staffer did this, everybody in the Democratic party should know who the person is and what they said ... so that person can be ostracized from the party.

WE DON'T NEED OR WANT PEOPLE LIKE THAT REPRESENTING OUR PARTY

I really can't understand protecting the identity of somebody who did something like that.

13. Then demand accountability for his lie. If he's telling the truth demand accountability
as you absolutely do not accept that type of tactic as a Democrat and believe it requires its own accountability moment from an outraged Dem party....right??

20. There have been Hillbots on this very board who have been doing this.
And I'm not going to mention any names, because that would be a violation of DU rules. But some of their games have been painfully obvious.

And when you have Geraldine Ferraro spewing KKK crap every time she opens her mouth, that's not going to help. Nor is it exactly productive to have a formerly respected journalist like Sid Blumenthal deliberately circulating Freeper crap e-mails, which contain all kinds of smears about Obama, including "Muslim" rumors. And unfortunately, there is a segment of the Jewish population who has an immediate negative reaction to anything perceived as "Islamic". And surely Blumenthal knows that as well as I do.

There's definitely some truth to this. And it's just another sickening piece of the puzzle that was the Hillary 2008 campaign.

She'll be out the door I'm guessing on Wednesday the 11th.

And for the record, this Jew proudly voted for Obama in Ohio. I've still got some family members who still think he's a closet Muslim. I'm working on them.

26. Like I said, she exploited many tensions, exploiting race in the process!
Exploited black-"hard-working" whites tension
Exploited black-Hispanic tension
Exploited white-Black Muslim tension
Exploited black-white women tension

This does not surprise me. When people call Hillary a Republican and Hillary supporters get angry for it, her actions such as these confirm that she is much closer to the Republican party than her followers care to admit.

I swear I have heard so many untruths that people just jump on with absolutely no proof that they ever happened, other than someone said it did. But I think some people around here just live for the next juicy tidbit that they can't slam Hillary over the head with it, proof be damned.

He just got crushed by Lautenberg in the primary and is giving up his house seat. He doesn't want people to forget about him too fast. I have met Andrews many times, he is my congressman, and although he is an all around good guy, he LOVES attention.

45. While Obama offered to lead an initiative
of rebuilding the bridge between African Americans and Jews. Which was once a very strong bridge that had collapsed. The dirty politics got the Clinton campaign nowhere.

I'm glad the person who took the high road won the race to the nomination.
