It's that close right now because of HRC supporter bitterness. It will fade.

Continuing to blame every problem Obama has on Clinton supporters won't help him win the race.
Rethink it, if you truly want to see him get elected.

Stop the bullshit hate already. Do you guys have ANY interest in actually winning? Or do you just want to slam Clinton and her supporters from now until McCain's inauguration?

6. Is that yesterday's Gallup Tracking poll or today's? |
|
Gallup doesn't usually release the daily poll until about 3PM eastern time. Rasmussen has theirs up before 10AM.

9. Obama barely ahead. Rasmus +3, CNN +3, Cook/RT +1, Gallup +1 |
|
for Obama. This is the bounce he was supposed to get? McCain is within margin of error. The Democratic nominee should be up by at least 12 points, possibly higher at this stage with the other side in free fall.

14. Well Smarty. The Gallup rep also said that yesterday Obama had |
|
gotten a bump, so in the next couple of days we should see his Gallup numbers start to take off.

16. I don't know what the numbers will be in two weeks, but I agree... |
|
...that polls in two weeks will be more valid.
Hillary Clinton supporters will have had two weeks to decide whom to support next.

19. I'm glad it's not worse |

Especially given a long a bitter primary where (according to exit polling) 25+% of clinton supporters will vote for McCain. The best antidote to that IMO will be HIllary's own campaign advocacy which isn't really "officially" beginning until today anyway you could say.
He's been fighting a two front war, not only against attacks(against either his record, character or candidacy) from McCain and HIllary (AND a former president), but also the fact that even when he does try to focus on McCain, a large portion of the party is just aiming at him, so McCain gets less scrutiny than he would have otherwise.
Couple that with the upward trend in gallup polling in recent days and things may be looking quite differently later on. Only time will tell, I'll reserve the bulk of my excitement/shock for the poll on election day.
