How could you not vote for a man who won a super bowl?
In all seriousness, it would have been a much closer election (although it probably couldn't have been any more a route) and there are many people who think Ditka could have won.
I'm not so sure he would have, but he'd have gotten a lot more votes in the Chicago area and downstate.
