GOP nominee for Governor in Indiana, Mitch Daniels arrested for pot!
Well it happened a while ago, but still you have to admit you loved that headline.

Kernan acknowledges marijuana use; Dems question Daniels bust
August 18, 2004 —Both major candidates for governor have now acknowledged smoking marijuana decades ago in their youth.

Some Democrats suggested Tuesday that Republican Mitch Daniels has been less that forthcoming about his drug arrest in 1970 while a student at Princeton.

Those accounts had Daniels and the other two in the room being charged with possession of marijuana, LSD and other drugs, and maintaining a common nuisance -- allowing the sale or use of drugs. Daniels spent two nights in jail before he was released.

Daniels was later indicted on two charges -- possessing marijuana and maintaining a nuisance. Prosecutors later dropped those charges, and Daniels pleaded guilty to a disorderly person charge stemming from his use of marijuana. He was fined $350.

2. This goes way beyond sparking a jay now and then
Dealing acid? Jeez.

I frankly don't care who smokes/snorts/tabs what.

But in today's political climate, with all the sanctimonious "outrage" flung at our side all the time, I'm MIGHTY interested to see how the repugs explain this one away!

3. Shouldn't be an issue but for his chosen party's draconian
war on The People using some drugs and hypocricy about personal responsibility.

4. what a clown
"In an op-ed piece written by Daniels and printed by The Washington Post in August 1989, Daniels said it was easy to obtain marijuana and Budweiser beer during his college days, and, "For a time, I was a carefree consumer of both."

Big difference between a legal Bud and an illicit bud, Mitch.

5. If he wasn't
the kind of hypocrite who thinks that what is fine for him, is forbidden to others, then I might even think differently of him for this.

But, of course, he is exactly that kind of hypocrite. You have to be that kind of hypocrite, to be nominated by the republicans these days.

7. There's one standard for Republicans and another standard for
Democrats. Republicans makes mistakes, those mistakes should be forgiven. BUT if a Democrat makes mistakes he is just a bad bad bad person with not morals. Personally I don't think anyone is perfect and I accept the bad with the good and I try hard not to be judgemental. And I try to focus on the good in a person instead of the bad.

8. And there is one standard for
the rich, powerful and well connected -- and another for everyone else.

If there is one thing that this election is all about, it is this.
