Donate right now to keep DENNIS KUCINICH in Congress!
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 07:46 PM by AZBlue
THIS is a politian we need to hold onto - he's someone who works for us, who works for what's right and what's important. If you haven't heard, a little over an hour ago he introduced 35 articles of impeachment on the floor of the House of Representatives. He is running for re-election this year and while we must focus on taking back the White House, we must also focus on adding more Democrats to Congress - and to keep the good ones that are already there!

http://kucinich.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=46&Itemid=58

If you're tapped out or money's just tight right now, sign up for his newsletters so you can keep in touch with his campaign for the remainder of the election season. If you can donate even a little, that would be great too!

Keep this kicked if you agree!
Thanks! :hi:

5. I would assume he has plenty of support
He's anti-Iraq War and that's what the vast majority of Americans are. What kind of Dem living in his district would vote against someone who just recently tried to get his colleagues to stand up to Bush and his cronies?

7. Yeah, but you know the GOP Machine.
And now he's had the audacity to ask for impeachment?! I think they'll go after him. Dems will still support him - but what about the rest of his constituents?

This error means that the web server is currently unable to handle your request due to a temporary overload.
Please try to reload the webpage in a few seconds.

Don't worry, I'll keep trying though. Hopefully this means thah many others are contributing. If he raises a bunch of $$ from this, it would surely get notice from other folks in Congress.

10. He's someone who finally coverted to pro-choice once he decided to run for president.
He's also someone who fucked over the unions by being one of a handful of Democrats who voted to change the name of DCA to the Ronald Reagan National Airport. And he's still proud of that vote.

We can do better.

28. The OP is also telling people where to spend their money.
I'm voicing my opinion that if you have an extra $50 laying around, it may be put to better use in a race where we are fighting to hold or have the ability to capture a traditionally Republican district.

But don't SHIT all over THIS Congressman's need for campaign money!!

He'll win handily, even if he doesn't spend a dollar. Send your cash to the DCCC or DSCC; they'll allocate it to the races that actually need the money.

35. Because that's money that could go to a progressive Dem in a contested district.
DK is in one of the safest seats in the country. His "challenger" is a patsy like any other; he's just another punching bag who'll get blown out by thirty points or more, just like each of the last five patsies they've sent out against him.

40. Then take it up with the OP, who started this thread by suggesting people direct
their cash in a certain way. I suggest that the same dollars would better serve liberalism and the Democratic party by going to competitive races.

It is indeed my call to "discourage" others. I possess the same limited free speech on this site that you do. I can say that one use of money is better than another, just like you can, and just like the OP did.

Your invocation of "freepers" made me giggle.

if people were only allowed to agree in threads--and if people who disagreed had to start new threads. If you want a place on DU where people are not allowed to disagree, I would advise going here:
