i started off not much liking him months back, but i can honestly say the more i find out about kerry, the more i admire him.
i sense a stirring in the public too, a warming to him... i think to those of us who weren't familiar with him at first, his presence, his mannerisms, his look, his height, his speak, all of it kind of intimidated us... but i think folks are really starting to see him for who he is, and they like what they're seeing... at least i hope that's the case.
what really did it for me, was watching the msnbc special on him -- all the video of his protests in the early 70's... he was so eloquent, so passionate, such a statesman... i know THAT kerry still resides in the man running today -- he's just more of a politician now than he was then -- but heck, you HAVE to be when you're running for president...
so, to answer your question, i will not only be voting AGAINST bush, i'll VERY much be voting FOR John Kerry!

my father and I were watching Kerry testify before Congress on the news and my father said to me, "Keep an eye on John Kerry kid, he'll be President someday" So for the last 30 years or so I've been keeping an eye on John Kerry. Lets hope the old man was right.

sounds like a good guy and understood politicians. Is he still around?
I've been following him since '00 when I first got interested in politics. After I first found out about him I checked his record, found out he was a good liberal, and was impressed by his service in the military as well as his protests.
I also was disappointed by him earlier on by his IWR vote but have come to understand it and respect it.
I really do think he'd make a hell of a president.

46. Dad unfortunatly passed in Oct. 2002, |
|
He was a Korean War Vet, a Union man, and a lifelong born and bred Irish Catholic Democrat. A few weeks before he died he told me, " I thought I hated Nixon, but then that SOB Reagan came around, then I thought I hated Reagan, but then this imbecle Bush Jr. came around, and I hate this little bastard more than Nixon and Reagan combined and that is quite an accomplishment" He saw something in John Kerry and I always trusted his judgement in matters politcal. And yes JK will make a great President.

to maul some Kerry voters for their "simple hate of Bu$h." This is there latest shadow campaign. To guilt people in to not voting Kerry based on the ABB model. Well, I let them have it, in a nice way I told them why I believe in John Kerry. I used his BCCI bust as an example of his great integrity and how a Kerry admin would reduce govt waste and spending by busting up the corporate corrupt politicians - both Repuke and Dem, because that what he did by busting the Dems and Repubs in the BCCI scandal. Kerry Fucking Rocks people.

Am I excited to be voting for Kerry? No more so than any other Presidential candiate I've voted for in the past.
I think my Anti-GOP sentiment is stronger than it has ever been.
So in some respects I am doing a little of both.

Kerry's record on the environment is good enough by itself, not to mention that I agree with him on all the major issues(omit Iraq... sort of) I think some democrats can loose their credibility and optimism when they say they are voting against someone rather than for. It's like a glass half-empty vs. half-full thing.
By the way, hi everyone!

36. I am voting Kerry because he is the Democratic candidate. |
|
Every four years we go through this process of deciding who is going to be our candidate. Kerry was not my first choice, but being my second, I have no problem fully supporting him.
Not every candidate is going to represent every idea or value you have, but Kerry does a pretty good job of meeting mine. It is about what are the most important issues each election, not the same diversions like abortion, gay marriage and gun control. The GOP wants its supporters to only worry about such things. The Democrats want supporters to make their own opinions. I am a Democrat because I like to think! :donut:

even more than I liked Gore/Lieberman in 2000. This year's ticket is better in many ways, especially when you compare the positions of Edwards and Lieberman.
I would probably vote for a head of rotten cabbage over Bush, that's true.
But still I feel that Kerry/Edwards might be one of the best overall tickets, if not the best, I've ever had the chance to vote for.
