What are the chances this is a setup to seat Dr. Dean as VP?
THAT would be a formidable ticket

The DNC always comes under control of the Prez nominee. Obama is consolidating most of it with his campaign because they learned from the Kerry campaign mistakes.
I'd like to see Dean head the healthcare initiative. That was his specialty.

Dean may have a cabinet secratary position in his future. Obama is essentially validating his plan and pouring money into it when he became chairman so Dean should stay right where he is for implementation.
Dean has more imagined negatives than Hillary

3. no, I cannot even for one second conceive that as even remotely plausible |

Gov. Dean is quite wrongly perceived as a latte liberal who is from a small Northeaster safe Democratic state.
I cannot imagine anyone voting for an Obama/Dean ticket that would not vote for Sen. Obama anyway.
The V.P. slot will have to fulfill at least two or three of the following criteria:
1. A Southerner or Westerner or South westerner or border stater
2. Someone with a strong foreign policy and national security C.V.
3. Someone who has particular appeal in rural areas, small towns, mid size cities and outer suburbs
4. Could possibly be a woman
Anyone who does not fulfill at least two or three of these requirements is not going to be considered as a plausible V.P. candidate
