The veep Obama chooses needs to be young enough
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 10:25 AM by ginnyinWI
to be able to run for President after eight years as VP in an Obama administration. Since the Obama camp is very forward-thinking, they've got to be considering this.

Although I think the world of people like John Kerry, Joe Biden, Chis Dodd, etc., I do hope Obama picks someone young enough to carry his agenda forward in 2016.

The only younger one who comes to mind for me immediately is Bill Richardson. But even he is going to be 61 this November! I think this person should be someone who would still be in their low 60s or younger in 2016. Can anyone name some well-qualified politicians now in their 40s or 50s who would be good veeps?

9. Erm... I think Obama has to focus on getting elected in 2008
And not on what the presidential race might look like in 2016. In politics it is impossible to predict what will happen in the upcoming week, let alone the upcoming eight years.

10. A VP succeeding a two term president isn't all that common is it?
I'm not sure the underlying premise about ability succeed after 8 years of Vice Presidency is critical.

11. I'm setting my sights high.
Just as Gore ran after Bill's two terms, I think Obama's administration will be at least as successful as Bill Clinton's (probably much more so) and his veep will indeed have a good chance at winning.

18. Not really
the NRA is extremely partisan, and would support a gun-control Repuke over a gun-rights Dem. they're no less hypocritical than the Religious Wrong.
