Gallup: Republicans think American Morality Declines so what are they proud about?
A new Gallup poll shows that for the first time a majority of Republicans feel that America suffers from poor morals. Democrats and Independents remain largely unchanged.

It brings to mind a question that the Republicans are always all banging the patriotic drum of how proud they are of America and yet at the same time think it has terrible morality and getting worse.

It is thought that the Republican view of morals in the US has to do with the merits of America facing the civil rights issues pertaining to the inequal treatment of LGBT.

What exactly is it that Republicans are proud of if at the same time they think that the morality of America is bad and getting worse?

1. They say that because we have become more liberal.
It feeds their reactionary urges to become more conservative.

2. They're proud of our military strength.
The thought of annihilating another country makes them cream their jeans. They are a very simplistic people.

3. I'd like to see "moral values" defined
I'll bet it has more to do with increasing civil liberties (or restoring them)than it has to do with debauchery. The conservatives think tolerance is immoral

4. A GOP Woman From TownHall Explained This
on MSNBC the other morning. She was so unbelievably obnoxious, but here goes:

It's because the Dems took over in 06 and worse, Nancy Pelosi is The Speaker of The House.

There you have it, this my friends is why the GOP is feeling down about America.

It has nothing to do with high gas, high food, fucked up war in Iraq, Britney, Lindsay, low paying jobs, scary weather. Nope, it's because Nancy Pelosi is the new speaker.

for absolutely no reason.

7. Because silly....
it's the crazy leebruls who are driving down morality. The republicans can pat themselves on the backs for their superior values and blame all the problems on the rest of the country, it's a win-win! ;)

8. They luuurve America
with an unseemly ardor and hate everyone in it. Real live Americans pollute the shimmery ideal of an America that never was. Movement Conservatives have always been that way.

10. Electing assholes like Larry Craig, Trent Lott, George Allen, Rick Santorum, and Ted Stevens.
"Oh, look honey, those guys we voted for all turned out to be crooks, racists, and liars. Let's have a party. Ha ha ha. I sure hope they screwed the Democrats real good before they got caught so I can sleep better at night knowing the Democrats will never be able to fix anything so we can laugh at them while the country goes down the drain."

"Oh, look honey, it says here that Larry Craig is going to write a book about how he was coerced into tap dancing in that Minnesota restroom by that one cop who had it in for Republicans. It's called 'If These Stalls Could Talk'. That sounds like it will make a nice Christmas gift for the kids this year, don't ya think?"

"Oh, look honey, they just said on tv that Trent Lott will have a new job next year working behind the scenes in Washington on behalf of all of us hardworking Republicans. They're going to pay him $2 million a year because he is so good at working behind the scenes, evidently."

"Oh, look honey, George Allen is on the cover of 'Virginia Today' magazine. I wonder if the article is any good. The title sounds interesting enough, 'Why my macaca moment was not just a warning to all patriotic, god-fearing citizens of this beautiful country we call the US of A.' I'll have to read that later when I'm in the 'reading room'."

"Oh, look honey, Rick Santorum is preaching again, I mean speaking again on the tv. I think the tv must be on the PTL channel. Yup, I was right, I hadn't changed it yet from watching Fox Snooze yesterday morning. He looks so at peace with himself these days, railing like that."

"Oh, look honey, can you please turn up the radio, Rush Limbaugh is on and he is just giving the Democrats the fits for making Ted Stevens look so bad. As if that kindly old man ever did anything to them. All he ever really wanted was a bridge. What is wrong with that? Why can't the Democrats just leave poor ol' Senator Stevens alone. And give him his bridge, too. Sometimes I just can't tell if this is America anymore."
