1. There is no mechanism for doing so. |

We do not pay dues and receive mebership cards attesting to our status as Democrats; therefore, logically, one cannot Un-do what has not been done.

You simply can't excommunicate someone from the Democratic party. I don't think you can stop Zell from calling himself a Democrat. My only question is: why is Zell still in the party? He should have switched to the dark side a long time ago. I guess he already has. He's just a DINO.

He was going to switch, but the Repukes got him to hang on to his Democratic "credentials" so they could unveil him at the RNC.
Think about it. If he was just some asshole redneck wing-nut who switched a while ago he wouldn't be near the stage, but as it is he's a "Democrat" and this proves Bush is a "man of the people" who can "unite" the nation.

Hopefully most people are smart enough to see through that crap. Then again, does the average voter know that Zell is no liberal? Will they think critically and discover what kind of "Democrat" Zell really is? Or will it matter beyond those who would vote for Bush even if they know he's not a man of the people?

6. This isn't the issue to him... |
|
He is retiring and will not seek reelection. This is a great way for him to get a piece of the lime light. Think about it, if he simply switched parties the lime light would go away. He is basically financing his retirement with some Neocon loot plus selling a couple of books......

the Democratic party ought to be able to Excommunicate heretics from the party. One religious. One secular. Same thing.

14. Damn this is EXACTLY the kind of tough stance the Democratic party |
|
needs to take. If you are appearing in support of the position of a Republican nominee for President, then goodbye and good riddance.
Why are we always wimps? Change the charter. Call it the Zell Miller amendment and get him to stop having the privelage of having a (D) behind his name.
Have we no pride?
