When a good bit of the GOP base thinks the war in Iraq is a quagmire. he has no problem with being there indefinitely.
When another cross-section of the GOP is vociferously opposed to amnesty, he partners with Kennedy on what many think is a plan for amnesty.
When Michigan and Ohio Blue Collar workers are worried about job security he goes into the belly of the Beast and says that NAFTA is great.
And today he goes in Texas and calls for offshore drilling in the Gulf. That is something that people from Naples to Brownsville are about 75% opposed to.
He's putting Texas (0on two fronts) and Florida (on one front) in play and eroding what support he has among swing voters in the industrial midwest.
Is this about an appeal to donors rather than an an appeal to voters? Help me understand.

I don't understand anything at all about McCain's campaign. Everything seems to be ass-backkwards, including the candidate.
