They will show the form he filled out! Hold on and get ready! Barack made the right decision.

38. Methinks their whining will drag on beyond the 24-hour mark.
They did the all-day preemptive whine months ago, during the speculation phase of this discussion. They'll never let this go. Ever. I expect this to be added to their collection of permanent talking points.

48. End Legalized Bribery!
Corporate lobbying is legalized bribery. Corporations are not people and do not deserve to be better represented in our government than we the people are.

11. Sort of... its an optional tax though
There is a section on your tax return that asks if you would like to contribute to the system. It's not a mandatory thing.

They're throwing a hissy fit because Obama is "controlling media access and manipulating public perception". The fiend! He's doing what any successful politician does in an election cycle. No fair!

18. This is a good thing. He can raise the money he needs. It's been said that he already has
a "publicly financed" campaign. Avg. internet donation $91. Much of them from people like me - and he has 1.5 Million donors (at last count).

THAT is a publicly financed campaign.

25. That's what I've been doing - sending $100 on his Internet donation page
every month we can afford it. I haven't maxed out yet and we aren't doing vacation this summer so I'll keep doing it. I guess "latte liberals" are good for something. ;)

The cool thing really is the number of donors though - 1.5 million is awesome and I bet it'll grow by fall. It's a really smart strategy to encourage small donations, and the "precinct captain" volunteering - if you can give $5 and make some phone calls you're on the team. It gives people ownership in the campaign and makes them feel more involved (because they are involved). This campaign has really been interesting to watch. Obama has taken community organizing to a whole new level.

It's called a race for a reason. If the competition is too strong for McSame then why is he in this race? Does McSame want Obama to keep making things even for him throughout this race? Even in a way that both candidates have the same amount of donors?

Not a word on MSNBC about McCain's little loan/public financing problem for the primary elections. They read the McCain campaign's nasty statement about Obama going back on his word and how voters can't trust him...yadda, yadda, yadda.
