It sorta dawned on me last week when I was discussing the Recreate68.org threats and the PUMA and FDR protests- the choice to move the DNC to Chicago isn't just because of putting it under Daley's slimey fingers- it's to quash any dissent raised.

In 1968, the Chicago police were deployed to crush demonstrators. And just last month, we saw protesters picket the DNC repeatedly for the RBC rules violations amongst other sins. If the DNC is in Chicago and Daley has the desire, he'll crush protesters just like his daddy did.

It's not just about crushing dissent on the Internet anymore with threats of lawsuits and spam rating sites and TS'ing posters- it's about beating them with clubs and gassing them.

When they go too far, and they will- there will be more defections to the GOP. PPP and his buddies may have gone too far with this move and tipped the scales more than they intended.

Just watch. As PUMA's get more pissed and the Summer heat really gets started, we'll start to see false arrests, demonstration permits being denied and folks being put in the hospital by Chicago's finest.
