I think the GOP is going to try a last minute ambush. |
|
Recently John McCain made a statement to the effect that, he was the underdog. but that he would rise to win the election in the last 48 hours. This makes me think that the GOP is going to tear into Obama at the last minute with vicious and racially tinged messages, using the airwaves and the internet. The reasons that they will do this is that Obama will have plenty of cash and has shown the ability to respond effectively to such attacks when given the time and, although the media may not come right out and condemn the messages, they will at least question them. The responses would effect the rational swing voters who would slide to Obama. By coming out with the attacks at the last minute, they would diminish the time for response from Obama and the press. The trick would be to come out in time for the message to sink in, but not allow enough time for effective response. If Obama can get his lead Up to or close to ten points, I don't think it will work.

2. I also heard him say "in the last 48 hours" and I thought... |
|
what a strange thing to say.
They've got nothing on Obama, the wright thing is out in the open and they couldn't get any traction on ayers, so who knows what desperate tactics they have up their sleeve. Whatever it is, it will probably backfire.

The only way that mccain can overcome the polls and popularity is a terror or terra attack just before the election. bush was re-elected with the help of bin ladin who repaid the favor of bush letting him escape at Tora Bora. The charlie black comments and mcccain's prediction of a coming back in the last 48 hours all indicate a planned terra event.

4. I find this troubling.... |
|
...because it sounds like something they would do--orchestrate some kind of last-minute "event" or release some last-minute horrendous lie about Obama.
McCain really is feeble minded. I'm sorry, but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He slips up and seems a bit affected by his age. He's not a moron like Bush--he just seems a bit slow minded, due to his age. I imagine that he just let this "48 hour" remark slip out. I bet he had it on his mind, because it's been discussed as part of some big strategy.
McCain let it slip and he's thinking that no one will notice what he said.

5. Obama needs to go on the offensive. Quick and easy. |
|
John Kerry tried the "mail it in" approach and it didn't fucking work.
