Clark Remains Very Much In The Hunt For the Dem Nomination |
|
DUers consistently offer great insight, dialogue, comments and information. This is a terrific board, even with the candidate board.
One can tell when a candidate is falling out, or has fallen out, of play by the number of posts about that candidate - positive or negative.
In the last two weeks, at an accelerating pace, the posts have been about Clark or Dean. In the last 4 days, there have been a huge number of posts about Clark which have been negative - several of these posts are posted by the same small group of DUers, repeating the same "issues" "questions" or comments.
If Clark were out of this, these supporters of other candidates would not waste the time and energy in posting about Clark. The fact that these posts are accelerating actually makes me think Clark's chances are getting better.
DU is not the real world of course, but it is interesting to see the posts about Clark that are negative. As someone very astutely said, these posts actually help Clark - because they give Clark supporters the opportunity to tell Clark's great story again and again.

Clark is not leading anywhere.

4. Bill Clinton had no equivalent to Dean... |
|
There was no candidate in 1992 significantly ahead of Clinton in fundraising, and leading him in polls in EVERY primary state.
Sorry, the historical analogy very quickly falls apart when you really look at history.

My post talks about DUers, who are informed, active participants in the primary process, and ardent supporters of the candidates.

Clark and Dean, I hope, will be able to come together after the nominee is actually chosen and support whomever that is.
I have actually already seen posts stating they will not do so. We need to cool down a bit; we need to throw Bush out!

8. That's partisan posturing by very few |

Think away the vocal minority, and you'll find practically everyone agreeing that the nominee will carry a mighty collective wallop. Hey, I'd support even Lieberman! (What a relief that I don't see that happen this year... Haha!)
Pay attention to the handles, and who claims to "deny support" to anyone but "their" candidate - aside from precious few conscientious supporters (e.g., for Kucinich - who incidentally pledged support for the Democratic nominee, today, live on C-SPAN, together with the six other contenders) I think you're seeing what spinners want you to see.
Life is more, uh, boring than a message board suggests.
Which is another good reason to vote for Clark, of course! Now, I have some interesting reading material about his proposals for a better America... Maybe I can interest you...

:) I've noticed quite a scent of despair in Calrk's campaign lately. This only helps confirms it.
Yes we have noticed the new "Crank It Up" influx of 'new' posters and the strange inactivity of Clark supporters who were really vocal in the past. What's up with that? Re-cycling?
Tell the General to buck up, you can't win them all.
The tactics are....breath-taking!

11. The bulk of the "anti" posts are still about Dean. |
|
So maybe you see 4 or 5 more anti-Clark posts in the last few days when you used to see only 1 or 2. You neglect to mention (for the sake of proving your questionable thesis) the 10 or more continuous anti-Dean posts that are always there. So based on what I see when I log on every day, if I were to use your theory, Clark is the one falling out.
