Some of you are worse than the MSM.
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 07:27 PM by Drunken Irishman
I grind my teeth and boil when watching cable news, but nothing like I have the past month here on DU. I'm not going to say I've had it, but damn, I think it'd be better for my blood pressure if I actually watched O'Reilly instead of reading some of the stuff posted on here.

Which shocks me, because I thought I'd never see the day.

:(

8. I've started using the "ignore" and "hide thread" functions for the first time EVER.
Not even during the primaries was I ever tempted to do so. But I've totally had it up to HERE with the whiners and the complainers and the crybabies and the hysterics. Fuck 'em all.

Maybe if enough of us have them on ignore so that no one ever responds to their shit, they'll eventually give up.

There's just too much at stake to spend time on the yapping ankle biters. Obama or McCain -- those are the options, period.

I want Obama. I want HIM to be president and THEN I'll complain about his policies.

9. I started another ignore list. Had to do it. Because this IS where
I come to get away from all the bullshit being spewed by the MSM and asshole right wingers and Obama haters.

I don't need to see their filth here. Especially those who come over from other places just to stir up trouble.

17. It's a rite of passage for Obama supporters: using "ignore"
The flip side to your argument is that some of us come here to get away from the hogwash of the outside world and are greeted with some of the same crap: that we MUST surrender on civil rights, economic fairness, unqualified dittoing of anything Israel does, and religion in government OR ELSE.

It's our home here, too, and many of us feel we've had a very dicey candidate shoved down our throats. Some are just icky in our responses, but some of us also hope to influence him away from bad tactical moves with constructive dissent. Some of us simply don't buy that these particular appeasements of the reactionaries are necessary or even useful.

So go ahead, join so many others in the Obama camp and stick your fingers in your ears and repeat that you can't hear it. Be proud of how many are simply ignored and think that somehow reality can be altered by steadfast filtering.

The rest of us have lives, too, and our dreams and the futures of our children shouldn't be trumped by a need for living with no disagreement.

One thing, though: when one persists in "ignoring" great numbers of people, one should no longer claim to know diddly about what's really going on.

part I and II were about. Not during FISA.

And spare me the holier than thou BS about using the ignore feature.

28. I have dreams, too. Which is why, more than anything, I DON'T want McCain in the White House.
Day after day, I've been hearing the corporate media news readers gleefully tut-tutting about how Obama is ticking off the "liberal" base.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who is aiding and abetting that storyline is working AGAINST the goal of getting our Dem candidate elected.

I've sucked it up election after election behind Dem candidates that made me cringe, but they were part of MY political family, and therefore I wouldn't THINK of publicly airing my grievances with them when there was an election at stake.

I have NO patience left for the whining and complaining. As far as I'm concerned, the whiners and complainers are doing the MSM's dirty work for them.

I want only ONE thing from Obama, and that's to win this election. We'll have plenty of time afterwards to complain and make demands. We'll get NOTHING if he doesn't win.

32. Some people here talk about their ignore lists more than politics.
They find their ignore lists endlessly fascinating and assume that everyone else does, too.

I don't get it. It just seems so eighth grade. "Ethel tried to talk to me but I just walked RIGHT PAST HER AND LOOKED THE OTHER WAY!!!!!"

29. Went through this last time with...
the Deaniacs screaming bloody murder, and the Clarkies not far behind. The diehard brigades just wouldn't accept that we had a candidate and I swear a bunch of them WANTED Kerry to lose just so they could say "I told ya so."

Most of the worst offenders from then are gone now, but a whole new group seems to be pulling the same shit.

Reading DU, it becomes clear that every Democrat who wins an election or gains power immediately becomes some craven water carrier for the White House. we're gonna run out of Democrats real soon if this keeps up.

(Even clearer is that at least half the posters here have never been through a Presidential election before. Or been awake during one.)
