Democrats in Congress could knock the wind right out of McCain.
It's stupid. It won't work. It's a waste of time, but if Congress acted RIGHT NOW to temporarily suspend gasoline taxes people would see with their own eyes that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference, and McCain's big campaign pledge to save the economy by suspending those same gasoline taxes would be exposed for the sham it is.

What could he do? How could he respond? If we all see for ourselves that it was a ridiculous claim, one of his big campaign selling points would just go up in smoke over night.
