6. I've been thinking that too. That's part of why they've waited so long.

Poppy blew it by beating Saddam so quickly in Gulf War 1. The warm glow of victory had worn off by the time of the next election and Poppy lost.

Dim Son beat Saddam (ha!) too quickly and the warm glow wore off by the 2006 election, and the Dems won both houses of Congress. Well, actually it wore off by 2004 but good ole Wally "delivered."

This time they intend to wait long enough that the TV pictures of things blowing up will energize the "We're number 1 and have foam fingers to prove it" crowd, but the bloom won't be off the victory before election day. (They completely ignore the possibility that Iran has ways to strike back just as they believed their own fantasies about Iraqis throwing flowers at our feet.)

It would not surprise me at all if they do it just before or even during the Dem. National Convention. They have no shame. I hope our folks are planning to deal with such a vile possibility. That timing would make it very risky to criticize Bushco during our convention and would also enable them to turn their convention into a jingoist, "patriotic," "support the troops" McSame commercial.

9. Keep your eye on

what Admiral Mullen, the rest of the Joint Chiefs, in fact all the sane military high command, are going to allow repeat allow. They are not going to leave it up to Congress or the Israelis. Cheney, the neocons, and 'lil lame Bush have only a few Jack D. Ripper Air Force types on their side. Not enough for another coup d'etat, even if they did try to stage 9-1-1 all over again. Maybe, it will all end peacefully. But definitely not the way these traitors think it will. We live in interesting times.
