I thought the Jib Jab latest animation SUCKED ASS
Watching the cute animation techniques that the Job Jab artists have commanded, I finally watched the animation.

It sucked. Bad.

It's not the production value that was bad. It was well done for what it is. If I had months to come up with a decent score and animation using the cut-out casts in a Flash animation motif, I'm sure I could come up with something equally compelling.

What sucks about this animation's message and end story is that it's so damn cynical of the process that elections are supposed to be about. It's perfect propaganda for nitwits to act like it all doesn't matter anyway. It's saying we're all being duped. It's got Maureen Dowd-laced negativity splattered all over it.

Look at Dowd. She perfectly was able to make an "issue" feminizing Al Gore as some wimp who wore earth colors for photo ops. She implored her dictum on John Kerry by feminizing him for being "boring" or what the hell ever. She has actually been called to task by Obama, who told her scrawny ass to not make fun of his big ears. She's pissed. She took it out on Barack's wife.

The same annoying nonsense can be said for the Jib Jab crew. You walk away half chuckling but mostly that it all doesn't matter in the end. You are told you are an idiot for believing in democracy.

It's bad enough we have the corporate media drumming against Obama endlessly while giving McCain an absolute free pass on his endless confusion gaffes. We now have everyone chortling to a viral animation that tells you that you are a fool if you actually think electing Obama will make a difference.

2. It seemed dated.
It's designed to make young people think politics is a waste of time, so that they can focus on other things, like American Idol.

And yeah, it's a lame song and animation. It reminded me of Jay Leno monologues, trying to be even-handed and inoffensive. Sorry to say, but political humor only works if it has a slant.

4. They sell greeting cards, e-greeting cards
This is how they promote their for profit business. It sucked in every possible way. Not funny, cynical and designed to equally lambaste all players, in order to keep the customer base wide open. The real cuprits are the so called news shows that play it on a loop. It is a free commercial for Jib-Jab, and nothing more.

and came up shoddy on the message.
if this is supposed to be the best of american humor, ugh. give me good cutting british humor any time - now i'd love to see Terry Gilliam have a go at something like this.

11. The MSM is pimping Jib Jab
Because they like the ad. They like the fact that Jib Jab tries to paint Obama as a Politician cut from the same fabric as McCain.

13. I thought the New Yorker cover was not that big a deal
It was executed as a usual cover for the magazine, but of course, it was "confusing" in its message because of the volatility with the burning flag, Osama and the caricatures of Barack and Michelle. As a subscriber to the magazine, I've seen better covers.

It didn't make you think that it doesn't matter if you support democracy and it certainly didn't make you think the whole election is a charade...
