Poll question: Will one of the Swift Boat Vets roll over?
Consider: the actual VETERANS aren't the big players here; they are pawns of the money men, for the most part.

The legality issue is already out there, first in the NYT, now nationwide.

Cordier resigned THE DAY bloggers and DUers exposed some of the campaign/527 connection (nice work, gang!).

Kerry has already filed a complaint (trivial, probably, but it plants seeds of doubt).

I'm betting one rolls. Who's in?

1. People need to contact some of the ones that signed on but haven't been
on TV and stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if some now regret it.

2. Or one will implode
on one of the talk shows, ranting and raving about Kerry and making such wild statements that it is obvious they are a nut case. The one guy who won a Bronze Star has come close to doing that already.

9. I Watched A Pro And Anti-Kerry Swiftee On Scarbrough
If they were in the same room fists would have flown...

3. It depends on how much money each gets from the book deal.
Speaking of money. remember how the media trashed Richard Clark for actually making money in a capitalist society? What about these sick fucks?

4. I wouldn't be surprised if George Eliott cracks
It seems like he was manipulated by the group, fed a bunch a phony information to get him to criticize Kerry (and certainly the group withheld information like Larry Thurlow's Bronze Star citation and well as the Bronze Star citation of Thurlow's petty officer) He's already in hiding and refusing to talk. I sure he feels like a complete dope at this point. Unless they have him drugged up and tied down.

6. I agree that it looks like Elliott has already "cracked." Probably deeply
regrets involving his previously good name in such a smear. If you read the NYT article, Elliott had previously appeared in support of Kerry in a Senate race. He signed the Swifty affadavit. Then he told the Boston Globe it was a "terrible mistake". Then he signed a SECOND affadavit reversing his reversal. Now he won't talk to anyone.

Sounds like a guy really comfortable with what he's done, eh?

7. Elliott is the most vulnerable, I agree. I wonder if the investigation
goes anywhere if he'll crack.

Or it might take less than that, at this point.

5. I'm finding the poll results very interesting.
I should have known that DUers are sensible enough to separate the pawns from the money, though.

8. Doubtful...Here is why...
It's apparent almost all of the swiftboat vets have a beef with kerry about the antiwar stuff. typical military mindset of the time.

However we have a number of swiftboat vets unwilling to say ANYTHING. either pro or con Kerry. WHO ARE these silent ones?

I am willing to bet they are the vets that have REAL dirt on them. That may have wanted to participate, but were outed by o'niel himself. So they wouldn't contaminate his organization when the s*t hit the fan. Otherwise how come our OWN attack dogs haven't found anything on them by now? It's been way too long.

We are just going to have to be satisfied debunking their many lies. That should be enough.

Grok
