Looking Back; Thank God the "Wright Controversy" broke during the Primaries when it did
It is such OLD news by now, already absorbed and digested by both the public and the media. Whatever shock value it could have held for McCain's campaign has already been spent. Had Wright not broken when it did, it would have remained a tactical nuke the Republicans could deploy whenever they really needed to totally change the political narrative for a week or more.

Like, for example, Right Now. Instead the news remains centers on Obama's world tour and McCain can't mnake a dent in it.

2. LOL
All the stubles of late have been on the other foot, so to speak. Breaking videos have not been kind to McCain.

3. The entire anti-Obama wad has already been blown, and the GE hasn't even officially started yet.
I think we're in really good shape. :)

7. Nonsense ...
They have AT LEAST two more Pastorbates in them ...

Was Wright even an issue ???

NO ...

But, they made into one ...

Be it that he wears italian shoes, be it that his partner in his college chemistry class is a third nephew to the pool cleaner of the doctor who once took shaved the mole of a pilot who once few the cab driver who is the brother of a street vendor whe once sold a wrap sandwhich to Osama Bin Laden ...

Whatever it may be, they ARE going to find at LEAST two more non issues to beat Obamas head in for a month before the election ...

Frankly, I am VERY worried that some of these state polls are tightening already ...

They ARE going to mask McCain that McCain is in senile dementia, and they ARE going tear down BO in a BIG way between now and November ...

If anybody can handle it, it's Obama.

10. Of course. But the low hanging fruit is no longer on the tree
What they will have to reach for now to attempt shock value against Obama will be more far fetched and easier to turn against them for even trying to use it.

Do you believe for one nano second that the mere mention of Wright's name on a message board right now is intrinsically dangerous to Obama's political well being? That's the whole point for bleeping sake. It HAS been defused otherwise it would be the type of thing that could take the spotlight off of Obama's Berlin speech, get it?

It's not forgotten. Things like that aren't blotted out and forgotten. Instead they become stale and powerless. Wright is going to be publishing his own book, remember? It can't be buried, but it can be rendered ho hum, been there done that, what elese have you got?

I didn't slam Obama. Kid gloves won't protect him in a head to head against the G.O.P. A smart Obama campaign however will win.

13. Nobody said you "slammed" him. What was said was that you brought up the topic.

14. Yep. No disputing them facts
And for the record I don't claim that anyone said that I slammed him either. I was just making my own point that in my opinion there was nothing unfriendly to Obama about my OP. No candidate was harmed in the making of this thread.
