Swift Vets web design the same as AZ GOP sites
Two AZ GOP sites:

http://www.maricopagop.org/

and

http://nationnet.com/ld9/

Use the exact same template and 'web community' software as:

http://swift2.he.net/~swift2/index.php

The code is nearly a duplicate. It is based on some sort of template system at http://www.geeklog.net/

But they appear to running the exact same customization of that system--in other words, the design in AZ, which predates Swiftvets, was done by the same person or (more likely) taken directly from these AZ sites.

Apologies if I missed that this was covered elsewhere (like the research thread yesterday)--although I don't think it was/haven't seen this.

Which brings to mind a whole bunch of connections probably revolving around McCain and the people who did the attack ads, push polls against him in 2000. I'm assuming there was a AZ leader to that, but don't know much about it.

I think this is significant if we can nail down some relationships of the webdesigners to the Whistleass campaign or RNC or such.

(Researched hosting a bit, didn't turn up much and I've had it for tonight).

1. nice catch
but they are both powered by Geeklog and that comes with certain templates. No conspiracy on that one.

4. Strikes me as a hell of a coincidence
There's about 7-8 templates included.

You can also customize in a variety of ways.

All three sites pick this same template, look the same, and have nearly identical code. If they were customized at all, that work is nearly identical.

It would take downloading the Tar ball and looking at the default code to see if this is it--but I doubt it is. Suggests to me it was lifted or given by the AZ GOP. Add the McCain thing, in terms of the same tactics, and I get the basis of a good hunch.

Always a conspiracy with BFEE.

3. Well, here's something:

http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=Swift_Boat_Veterans_for_Truth

If this Disinfopedia entry is correct, the webmaster for the SwiftLiars site is involved in Free Republic. A text excerpt from the linked Disinfopedia entry, to boil it down, reads:

"Free Republic is one of the conservative websites where Corsi's racist contributions were posted. Scott Swett, Free Republic's Director, is also the webmaster for the Swift Boat Veterans website - further indication that the group is neither unbiased or nonpartisan."

5. Makes sense, considering the book co-author asshole
that there might be a Freeper webmaster.

Looked up that guy's main site though:

http://www.independentbias.com/

and it strikes me as technically unsophisticated compared to these others I'm talking about.
