German paper: Obama dazzles over 200,000 in Berlin
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 01:15 PM by FLDem5
Yes...

OVER 200,000

http://www.thelocal.de/13277/20080724/

Over 200,000 jubilant Barack Obama supporters shut down the centre of Berlin on Thursday evening to listen to the US presidential candidate give a major foreign policy speech.

People from all walks of life streamed to the German capital’s Victory Column memorial at the heart of the city’s Tiergarten park hoping to glimpse of the popular US senator from Illinois.

“Thank you to the citizens of Berlin and to the people of Germany,” Obama told the crowd to wild applause. "Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen – a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.”

As the sun set on the German capital, Berliners listened intently to Obama speak of the common challenges facing Europe and America in the 21st century.

Sorry, M$M pukes... we have the intertubes and live video webcasts from Europe... "tens of thousands", (if you multiply 10,000 enough times, you get 200,000) rat bastards...

11. You're right. "Twenty tens of thousands turned out in Berlin to hear Obama speak."
I'm sure they'll correct their mistake.

23. Dozens! ... at least!
According to a video report posted by Scranton, Pennsylvania's Times-Leader, John McCain's town hall event in Wilkes-Barre earlier today featured an underwhelming turnout -- more than half the seats were empty. About seven hundred folks showed up -- a decent sized crowd, perhaps, but it left nine hundred seats empty.

Meanwhile, when Barack Obama visited Wilkes-Barre on April 1, more than two thousand people attended -- not including the line of people that were turned away by fire department officials.

20. "He can't change much from here," the 60-year-old told The Local....
my favorite part of the article--
--snip--
Uwe Bley came all the way from the northern port city of Hamburg with his wife to see Obama on Thursday. "He can't change much from here," the 60-year-old told The Local, expressing his desire for the presidential candidate to take America in a new direction. "But he's the new hope now."
