Can't remember which lies he's supposed to tell today without his talking points memo in his hand.

2. I guess he really doesn't understand computers! He apparently
has no idea how fast people can look things up these days!

Remember that old saying, "a lie gets around the world twice while the truth is still tying its shoes"?

These days, the truth is getting a free ride from the Internet!

6. that's an excellent point
He just doesn't seem to understand how easy it is for all of us to go find out what he said a couple weeks ago.

10. You have just paid Mark Twain a great compliment.
The quotation is his, but a lot of people just accept it as an old, anonymous saying, which means the thought itself has been ingrained in people, without attribution. That's every writer's dream, to have his words survive on their own and become a part of the culture even long after he's dead. It's like a lot of words and phrases that have come down to us from Shakespeare over the centuries and become part of everyone's vocabulary, and most people don't realize they're saying quoting The Bard. Twain's adage may be around and in use for another several hundred years, and many of our descendants will not have any idea who Twain was.

13. Kind of ironic. Twain, Lincoln and Franklin get credited with saying
all sorts of things they didn't say, and here Twain doesn't get credit for what he did say!

A lie can get halfway around the world before the truth can even get its boots on.” Mark Twain

LOL- if you google that phrase, a lot of sites attribute it to Churchill! I think it sounds more like Twain, myself.

8. Why doesn't he start showing us what candidates should do
instead of always whining about what Obama does? Does his constant griping really appeal to anyone?

20. he made these comments in the Kelly ODonnell interview.
question IS, did she ask him about those two speeches? no mention of it here, NOR from ANY of the CNN/MSNBC commentators who were ecstatic to plut McCain's criticism of Obama's presumptuousness

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/24/1220326.aspx

make sure to read the comments, especially the first one

21. here's an excellent comment, with valuable advice for the Obama campaign:
Obama better respond to McCain's constant rant that he wants to lose the war...he should tell him that there is no "war", in that Congress never declared one formally, there is no "war" anymore to the extent there was one because we succeeded in ousting Saddam and installing a "democracy", there is no "war" because the insurgency is practically done with; there is no "war" but instead only the typical middle-eastern occasional suicide bomber and p-o'd people with their IED's; there is no war and we are done because the Iraqi security forces can take care of what's left over and the Iraq gov't wants us out.

But then again, McCain was a POW and thinks with POW mentality - he wants to win a war at any cost even if the war is over or there is none to fight!

22. oh ha
I have liked kelly since she was reporting out of cleveland (note where I am from). I am going to have to ask her to remember to cup the old mans balls. You cant let them babies hang down to his knees when doing this type of interview. It could give him back problems.
