The talking point that the RW is pushing is that Americans will be inclined to vote against Obama the more people in other foreign countries cheer for him. Remember Bush's "Annoy The Media: Vote Bush" bumper stickers? Expect, "Annoy The Rest of The World: Vote McCain." Maybe a large segment of the population is really motivated by hate and fear, and actually takes pride in being hated. In sports, remember the player "HE HATE ME" who had 15 minutes of fame based on his motto that he is motivated by being hated by opponents and fans:

Well, perhaps the John McCain can capitalize and spread such feelings. Perhaps McCain can nurture a seige mentality among Americans. Just as RWings did in Europe generations ago, perhaps the GOP can inflame American distrust of foreigners and ride a xenophobic wave to the Presidency with the MSM hitting us with the theme of its a scary world, and screw them all! Afterall, Obama's speech should be counted as a feather in the cap for all Americans in that other countries want to admire and like us, rather than see America as a nation with WMDs that inspires terror.
Why do chldren sometimes bully? Because their bullying makes up for their lack of self-esteem. Perhaps the GOP can nurture such feelings about how the world hates the US, and thus we should hate the world, and hate those leaders who would engage the US with the rest of the world.
