Freep them from the Right: Republican Leaders Like Abortion |
|
Post this on every wacky conservative board in America and pass along to your Republican friends (if you have any):
If you want abortion illegal I don’t know why you would consider voting for Republicans. Without Republican Supreme Court nominees abortion would have never been legalized in this country. Five of the seven Justices that voted for “choice” in Roe v. Wade were appointed by Republican Presidents (Blackmun, Burger, Brennan, Stewert, and Powell). Four out of six of the current Justices that support the central holdings of Roe are Republican nominees (O’Connor, Kennedy, Stevens, and Souter). You can't get abortion banned when these activist liberal Republican judges keep legislating from the bench!
This is especially hard to believe given the Constitutional Party’s strong commitment to ending the legality of abortion. Michael Peroutka who is running for President on the Constitution Party ticket advertises himself as being “100% pro-life, all nine months, no exceptions.” He has said he would, “do everything in my power to end the national disgrace of abortion, starting with a formal acknowledgment of the legal person-hood of every child from the moment of conception.”

They won't open up their eyes or minds enough to see that many Republicans are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. They're broken glass Bushies that can't seem to realize Bushco is socially conservative and fiscally liberal. Bushco believes in big government, interference in private lives, and big spending.

3. Let's go even farther. |

We know where the most concentrated areas of evangelical GOP voters are. We know where Peroutka's core base is coming from.
Let's take-out billboards in these areas in each swing state.
Think about it.. if we manage to peel-off 1 or 2% from Bush to Peroutka (or just to sitting at home), that might be the margin of victory in a few of those close states.
The billboards can be simple: "7 out of 9 current Supreme Court judges are Republican appointees, and yet Roe is still the law of the land. Are you tired of the GOP's empty promises yet?"
What makes this even nicer.. billboards are really cheap. Hell, DU could collectively scrape-together some money and put a few up! And once someone sees a billboard on the drive to work, they know that it's there. They don't even have to consciously read it on each following trip. It's there, in their brain, eating at them. They can try not to think about it, but the seed in their mind has been planted.
1 or 2% less for Bush. Given how close this race it, it may only come-down to a few thousand votes in one state..
