Now that you can no longer donate to Kerry
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 09:40 AM by Cheswick
Here is the web site of a great organization that is fighting to fund those "Hail Mary Pass" candidates who the DCCC isn't helping. It is easy to say we will only give to candidates who have a good chance of winnng. But we will never take back the house or the senate with that attitude. Backing only the safe candidates is not the way the republicans took over power of the senate and whitehouse.
Visit http://actblue.com/, Actblue gives you a way to contribute to candidates and save them money. Actblue has the lowest chargeback rate for credit card donations, of any of this type of organization. In other words candidates are getting more of your contribution when you contribute through ACTBLUE.

Please check them out. I have no money and can't even contribute to DU this year. But if I was able I would contribute to this organization. I would also be supporting the Underdog and David and Goliath candidates.

2. Also consider donating to your local Dem office.
Mine here in NC is pathetically underfunded. They try to stay stocked with Kerry stuff (bumperstickers, yard signs), but everyone wants them for free... and they're NOT. My local Dem office is training on average, 50 volunteers each week to go door-to-door doing voter registration throughout the county. They are incurring high utility costs (phone & electricity), supply costs AND Kerry logo costs... but no one wants to donate.

I know the PACs like www.moveon.org and www.actforvictory.org probably seem more exciting. But please see if your local Dem HQ is doing its job... and if they ARE, please help them with your donations.
