Do we really want to trade MoveOn.org for Swift Boats vets? |
|
I think that is the game that Bush and GOP are playing. Whenever questioned about the Swift Boat vets the GOP always throws it back to MoveOn.org. I think in the end they will sacrifice Swift Boat vets however I begining to think that their overall goal is to use this dust-up to eliminate 527's.
Think about it Kerry need's 527's more than Bush does and in the long run if they can use this to neutralize the likes of American Coming Together and MoveOn.org then its well worth it for the GOP.

1. don't let them change the subject |

this is not about 527's, this is about lies. Bush smears veterans under whatever campaign finance regime.

2. the incessant comparisons |

between Moveon & SBVs is completely odious. Moveon is an internet organization that was born of a grassroots movement during "the hunting" of Prez Clinton. SBVs came out Rove's (aka Bush's) brain, very recently and in reaction to Kerry's nomination. There is no frigging comparison.

Every time I hear Bush or Ken Mehlman or anyone from the RNC get quizzed on these Swift Boat ads, they almost always talk about reining in all 527s and refuse to mention SBVFT specifically. They're trying to lure Kerry into a trap.

MoveOn can strike back hard on a multiplicity of issues that the one-trick assholes Swift Boat Slime for Chimpy can only do a little while longer.
All of their ads are being debunked, all the vets who stepped up for Chimpy are being shot down for the liars that they are and the blowback from Chimpy and Karl's desperate attempt at attacking the US military's integrity and validity of war medals is going to sink them once and for all.
Keep MoveOn on.

That's been the plan all along. Create the swifties then whine about moveon then cut a deal. Kerry needs to cut moveon loose by next Monday. he could spend all week pointing out the connections between swiftboats and Bush campaign and then just say, "Well you wouldn't call off the dogs so I'm letting mine loose again". did you notice the minute Kerry condemed moveon's ads, they started complaining about ACT and George Soros. You can't deal with these people. Move on STAYS.

10. Soros is one billionaire. . . |

they've got the decisive majority of the rest of 'em and the media and the executive, legislative, and probably the judicial branch of the government.
I don't disagree with Kerry's distancing from Moveon, just as strategy. I too hope he doesn't fall for this bait. We need these 527's in lieu of *'s plethora of bundling, pioneers, rangers, and corporate coersions of employees.
Again, there is no frigging comparison.

8. 527s could end tomorrow and the SBVs will still be major players... |
|
Their "media buys" had NOTHING to do with how they made it into the media. Using Drudge, Talk Radio and the Cable News, the book alone would have been sufficient to get them into the mainstream.

Let them keep the Smear Boat Liars. As more of their lies are revealed, they lose any semblance of credibility. Their ties to the official campaign further damages their effectiveness, and there's always a possibility that the FEC will decide they have to cease smearing anyway.

11. Swift Boat Vets and their crazy conspiracy theories |
|
They are just a boatload of whackos. I can't believe a crazy conspiracy theory like this has gotten so much national coverage. It is like saying Kerry has met with aliens.
This is definitely Weekly World News quality.

looooong before John Kerry became the Dem candidate. They have helped the Democratic causes for years. Smearboat Vets were pulled out of KKKRove's ass within the last few months. They can't be compared. They are here for one reason....to slime John Kerry...IMCPO. :hi:

He won't do that. He may continue to say he doesn't agree with/endorse the Moveon ads, but that's just politics...he doesn't really mean it. He has to be thankful for Moveon for picking up the slack and saving him $$$$$. Nah, Kerry won't fall for their crap.
