The Media Wants Tim Kaine...but Kathleen Sebelius Still Very Strong Dark Horse
I think it's most likely either going to be Kaine or Sebelius. Tim Kaine is all the MSM is talking about right now...Sebelius still being mostly ignored by them unless one of the panelists bring her up. I personally want Sebelius, but I'd be happy with Kaine even though I don't know much about him...I trust Obama's judgement. I highly doubt he picks another Senator, not only from his statement on Meet the Press, but on MSNBC they just said Obama didn't ask Biden to come along overseas because he felt Biden might overshadow him on the world stage. If that was a real deciding factor, then Obama is not likely to pick him...even though he's in the Top 5.

I think the Top 5 in no particular order looks like this...

1. Tim Kaine
2. Kathleen Sebelius
3. Joe Biden
4. Evan Bayh
5. Not Sure

Obama has said in the past that he feels he knows enough about foreign policy to be comfortable. Besides, Presidents aren't the sole decision-makers anyway...they surround themselves with advisors like Susan Rice. Obama doesn't need a foreign policy wonk as VP. That's a MSM meme.

1. I don't think Obama could pick a woman except for Clinton.
It would bring up the entire Hillary should be the candidate stuff that the party has worked to get past since the primary.

And I am not sure it is the media that likes Kaine, the odds of being picked at the moment are just in Kaine's favor.

2. Because they're ONLY talking about Kaine

Articles have been written about Sebelius recently as VP too...they're just not bringing her up. I also think the Clinton argument won't work. Clinton did herself in when she wanted to wage WW3 during the primaries through a "Kitchen Sink" strategy. She can blame Mark Penn for screwing her chances. I think if she would have bowed out gracefully, there's a MUCH stronger possibility of her as VP than there is now.

3. Acutually Kaine hasn't even been mentioned on MSNBC until recently.
They'll been promoting Biden, Reed, and Bayh.

6. The media has been promoting Biden, Bayh and Clinton.
Business as usual is what they want and that's what those three deliver.
