Opposing 527s is like opposing the First Amendment. |
|
What needs to be opposed are 527s that lie, smear and slander. But for a candidate to oppose all 527s because one is lying outrageously is to take a coward's (or a liar's) tactic. Not surprising that it's Bush's position.

Nope...it's directly opposing it.
What needs to happen is that 527's have to be financially liable for the things that they say.

People can exercise their First Amendment right to say anything they want to, as long as they're willing to pay the consequences if they exercise the right irresponsibly.
