If you were designing a TV ad for Obama--what would it say? |
|
Mine:
Show clip of Brittany/Paris ad with narrator saying: "This is John McCain's prescription to rising unemployment."
Show clip of Obama as Moses ad with narrator saying: "This is what John McCain wants to do about record high gas prices."
Show picture of John McCain: "John McCain--Is he ready to be president?"

1. That would be a good one. One of mine might be |

Clip of john and cindy mcsame, each assuring all of America that they don't approve of and won't sanction negative campaigning.
Then several clips of their commercials and various other negative quotes.
"Dragging bottom again, and breaking another promise. Is that REALLY what you want in a president?"
-----
I did have one idea that my husband thought was really pushing it:
Open on a hand holding an egg, with a frying pan in view.
Voiceover: "Okay, we're going to go over this one more time."
See the hand set the egg down next to the frying pan. Reaches for a picture of mcsame.
Voiceover: "This is your candidate."
See the hand set the picture of mcsame down. Hand then reaches off camera and returns with another photo - of mcsame burying his face in bush's armpit on that campaign stop where they were "cuddling" onstage.
Voiceover: "This is your candidate on drugs." (Pause) "Any questions?"

Picture Barack, Michelle, and the girls on their front porch:
Hello, I am Barack Obama and I am not a republican. I have never been a republican. Have a great day and please give me your vote, because I am not a republican. I am Barack Obama, who is not a republican, and I approve this message.

2 average voters talking saying, "I'm struggling to pay my mortgage, the bills and pay for gas, and all John McCain wants to talk about is Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. What's McCain's plan for the economy?"
Then voice over says, "Barack Obama has a plan."
Switch to showing Obama with average folks and voice-over detailing Obama's emergency economic stimulus ($1,000 rebate, etc.).
I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.
On edit: I already emailed the campaign with this yesterday.

4. It would tell his story, his childhood, his high school, his education, his community work. |
|
It would demonstrate what a great American success story he is, this son of Kansas, this son of Kenya. It would spotlight his mother, his grandmother, and his grandfather. It would be designed to make viewers feel safe, and warm toward Obama. It would erase fears, and replace them with warm, Tigeresque feelings.
Obama will win unless middle voters are afraid of him, or what they perceive he is, rightly or wrongly. He's wise to ease those fears, and that is what my commercial would do.

6. I have said this before If you want to live in the 21st Century Vote Obama ... |
|
if you want to live in the 19th Century Vote McCain.
All he needs to do is stress that difference. I think most of that will come out when it's really needed .... in the debates when most people will be watching.
I also think that is when Obama will deal out his specifics that the pundits are crying about. It will be to late for McCain to counter them.

7. "Tell McCain To Stop Using Wounded American Troops As A Political Football" |

I'm Barack Obama, and it's time for our Leaders to start treating troops with respect. I approved a bill for veterans benefits, John McCain didn't. He knows I visited troops as Senator while in Iraq/Afghanistan and that the Pentagon rescinded permission for my visit in Germany, yet he took the low road and claims differently.
As someone who claims to care about troops and his own integrity, John McCain should know better.
