What could possibly distinguish McCain and Obama more than how they would address inner-city crime and poverty?

Obama: grass roots empowerment by/for residents.

McCain: a "surge" of militarism and martial law.

McCain suggests military-style invasion modeled on the surge to control "inner city crime"

Today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) spoke to the National Urban League, a group “devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream.” When an audience member asked him how he planned to reduce urban crime, McCain praised Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s efforts in New York Cirty before invoking the military’s tactics in Iraq as the model for crime-fighting:

MCCAIN: And some of those tactics — you mention the war in Iraq — are like that we use in the military. You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement, etc, etc.

There's an audio of McCain's bizarre and scary remarks with the story at this link:

8. the bad thing about it is, the audience who should have heard this did not...

CNN dropped (deliberately or accidently) the live feed and went immediately into some news program.

So this damning bit of video/audio was lost. I don't think the cable news stations carried this townhall or if they did, it was just for a few minutes.

This needs to get out there and quickly.

You can see it here (thanks again Hope and Change):

He also repeated how he didn't love America until he was deprived of her company :eyes: :puke:

2. Why doesn't he suggest sending a "surge" of troops into the corporations
to curtail white collar crime?

7. The "surge style" idea for the inner cities is insane.Only a true
sociopath could think that such tactics should be used within our cities. America, where are you?
Why are you worrying about some off the cuff remarks made by the true gentleman from Illinois while
his opponent is showing signs of being a certifiable maniac.?

10. The "surge" is to McCain what 911 was for Gouliani. A noun, a verb, and "surge". ~nt~

9. Enough with the male menopause! Leave me out of your surges !!
But I guess John Sidney McCain III, with seven homes, $520 loafers and a net worth of over $40 million is way past andropause.

The corporate media played along with the RNC talking point "the surge worked" and so it has gone to JSM III's head.

And/or, Honey, it's all they've got and they've gotta play it for all it's worth. Surge it like there's no tomorrow.
