At the Dem Convention, the vets stood there for Kerry |
|
Do the swift boat liars really have the 250 they claim or are they lying. How many swift boat vets are there total?

1. Many of them signed because of Kerry's antiwar activities |
|
Remember, Kerry's winning the nomination by draping himself in his war record to separate himself from the Deans of the race was a pretty radical departure for him because he didn't make a point of flaunting his credentials since Vietnam, until now. So doing so made a lot of veterans pissed because, well, they're Republican largely anyway, in a case like this, and because they saw what Kerry did as wrong, even if they're not Republicans.
A lot of them had no idea of what they were really signing up to though.

2. Many of them were encouraged to sign affidavits that were twisted around |
|
A new vet who hadn't previously stepped forward to complain about the Swiftliars, was on the news tonight (ABC I think) complaining that someone had come to his house and interviewed him about wartime events with Kerry but then wrote up an affidavit containing incorrect information (such as that they were not under enemy fire)
This man backed up Kerry saying that they WERE under enemy fire. He said he realized that the affidavit contained erroneous statements and declined to sign it. I would bet that lots of them did not carefully read the affidavits they signed, or were talked into it for political reasons.
