Mittens oh mittens.
I think John will pick Romney as VP and I was thinking this could be bad as we are trying to get Nevada and turnout among Mormons may hurt us. I also think that we may have a easier time in the south because of his religion.

4. He won't pick him!
Side by side, he over towers McCain in stature...and looks and appearance of health. McCain looks old and small and horribly unpolished and lacking in poise next to Romney. However, I do think it would be a good thing for all of us if he did.

7. Supposedly, the Bushes are pushing hard for Romney
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 12:51 AM by DFLforever
even though they know McCain hates him.

It will be interesting to see how independent a choice McCain will make.

I'm personally praying for Pawlenty.

10. it is hard to explain to people not from the community but evangelicals and
conservative Christians have an absolute deep and abiding distrust, dislike and complete anger at Mormonism.

My father who was "a better dead than red Goldwater Repubican" would rather vote for Castro than a mormon, and our family was once the 2nd most prominent family in Utah (First mayor of Salt Lake City and the second longest serving President/prophet of the LDS church).

12. I think it will be Romney also. Repugs don't think the same way we do. they fall in line,
Romney is the next in line. He is the most likely choice.

Besides it helps them in MI and NV, plus he has what they consider economic credentials. Also, bringing up religion again might help them too. It gives them a reason to use overtones that question our candidates religion.
