And Carly knows what about business and economics? |
|
How to run a business into the ground? How to get booted for epic incompetence?
She's a perfect McCain surrogate. Nothing says more about McCain than someone who sounds good, looks good, but despite all of that could still fuck up a cup of coffee. Good times.

2. And didn't she get into some trouble for spying on her employees? |
|
I seem to remember that happening a few years ago.

6. Oh man, it's so great to see you! |

I just said :hi: in another thread. I'm working on a computer right now -staying with a friend who needs help with the 30 apartments she manages- and for some reason I must exit DU to come back a see my replies. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Cheeny.

8. I bet you're right -- Either Cheney or Alberto Gonzales. |

The twin demons of the Let's Have a Beer With Dubya era, soon to be ended I hope.
Good for you -- have fun this summer and pop in more often. The boards get better when good people haunt them.
By the way, the new Emmylou Harris CD is terrific.

12. LOL! He's good at cheating democracy and shredding Constitutions, |
|
but otherwise I don't think the man could bake a dozen cookies on a flat tin sheet.
I'm glad he's out of the picture.

15. I'm not sure that happened on her watch. But what did is a prime example |
|
of how not to run a company. She pushed that compaq deal for her own benefit and not HP's.

3. No more than McCain knows about "Winning Wars". |
|
But considering that no one in the media is willing to do the hard and brave work of uncovering the failings of either Carly or John McCain, we must do the work ourselves.

18. I mean "looks good:" in the same sense that |
|
pundits use "looks presidential." Meaning that these people keep a bar low because they somehow manage to look like they might know a little bit about what's going on. Like I have heard people say in sports things like "Wow he looks good." Because some guy might look athletic and have a certain aura about them. However in the end, they have to prove it. I was a wrestler and a bull rider, I remember seeing people who were cocky etc, looked the part and played the part, but couldn't wrestle or ride better than a below average level. Shit anybody can look good warming up, not anybody can go out and actually do it. That's how politicians often are, hell McCain lives off of it. Carly's the same way.
People try to say Obama has no experience or elude that he's an empty suit, but Obama's been stellar at everything he's ever did in his life. McCain's only life accomplishment is an aberration of his character and that's that he was shot down and forced against his will to find a way to survive as a POW, that may be impressive in itself, but McCain outside of those 5 years is a total dud. And if you look at Robert Rubin, who was on before Fiorina was, well I might not agree with him on everything but when he was Treasury Secretary, his accomplishments were astounding, and in the private sector he's been extremely successful too. Nobody fires Robert Rubin for incompetence or running a business into the ground. And Carly sounds good and can put up a few good talking points, but really she espouses tired failed logic that was about as successful in practice as she was in her tenure at Hewlett Packard. That's harsh to say, but I don't like being told that these people are experts on something when they have massive failures and never learned from them. She doesn't know anything more about how to run the economy right than you or I do, and, philosophically, she's dead wrong in the first place.
