The only possible reason that Obama might pick Bayh |
|
During the vetting process, Bayh came out so squeaky clean, that the Repigs wouldn't be able to get him on anything. I doubt he's ever owned a roach clip.
Other than that, what does Bayh bring to the table, except maybe Indiana? Has this guy shown any sign of being an attack dog? I think that's what Obama needs right now.
What happened to all the Kaine talk?

1. It really would parallel how Bill picked Al Gore though... |
|
I'm sure that Al was described as boring and stiff back then, especially compared to Bill.

2. Bayh might be squeaky clean |
|
But his wife isn't. I saw a thread on it yesterday. Heavy connections to Big Pharma

. . . has welcomely disappeared. I think it was a deliberate leak and a head fake, possibly designed to get everyone in Virginia excited that the campaign is paying attention to the state (not a bad idea). Bayh is just as bad a pick as Kaine.

12. And, like Kaine, gives Indiana much needed attention. |
|
Now, let's move on to Clark.

5. If he wants squeaky clean, there's no one squeakier than |
|
Tim Kaine.
And his wife is a former legal aide attorney and juvenile court judge, not a big pharma lobbyist!

except those the GOP want to run against will get trashed as choices and most of us here will fall for it.

8. Origin of roach clip comment |
|
I took one look at Samuel Alito, who is seven months older than I am (57) and couldn't believe this guy is part of my generation. I just knew he had never done bong-hits or owned a clip. Wonder what he was doing with himself in '68, besides training to be a Fascist.
When anyone looks squeaky clean to me, I always wonder if they ever did anything the law didn't allow.

11. I think we'll be fine on Ohio |
|
We're running a Midwestern politician at the top of the ticket, so Ohio should be safe...assuming we make damn good and sure the Secretary of State isn't McLame's state campaign chair.

14. I could never see Bayh again |
|
but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that a Democrat that gets elected to that many statewide offices in Indiana is clean as a whistle, is actually real Democrat or he would have jettisoned the baggage and had an easier time, must do something right, and as much as anyone anywhere can actually help with a state. The people of Indiana, in general terms must trust Bayh like family.
Not a fan of the politics but I think it's simplistic to think this guy is worthless. 53 and already having served two terms in the statehouse and 10 in the Senate in arguably the most conservative state in the union indicates at least above mediocre ability.
